I agree. At the deadline you pay a premium to get a player to help your team win. If you have NO chance to go deep in The Playoffs, don't give up assets that represent future success.No. It is a sellers market. No additions need to be added. This team is not winning the cup.

Now we need to trade Kyrou and we will be a cup contender within a yearDizee astonished the naysayers once again with his powers. When will they learn?

Even so, the amount of assets we'd have to pay for a promising young player with term will likely involve 2 prospects AND a high draft choice to get 1 good player. But those 3 assets could potentially bring us 3 solid players who could play for us for a long time. I'd rather add young players in good trades in the offseasons, when you don't pay a premium for trading for a player because you need one now. The selling teams ask for more because they know the buying teams are desperate to add difference-makers or fill a void in their lineup to take advantage of a chance to win now. Whatever single player we add to THIS Blues lineup is NOT going to get The Blues to The Cup Finals, and probably not even past The Divisional Round. It wont be a rental. It will be somebody young, with term to help for this year and the rebuild.

And oddly enough this team plays better on the road than at home and they have alot of road games coming upOur remaining schedule is very favorable. Even the 3 games vs LA and 1 vs the Nucks look less painful now.
I get it RobbK. Guess it would depend on the price. A lot of talk in the Trade Proposal thread about Dylan Cozens. Young and signed (albeit high) for 5 more years. He’d be a guy that interests me if the price wasn’t too high as you mention.I agree. At the deadline you pay a premium to get a player to help your team win.
