I don’t think this team understands it’s in a fight for the wildcard. Need to do better at finishing and forwards have to drop back for defencemen, there’s no Rielly back there able to stretch it out to the redline

He will be fine IMO. Rielly had played about 300+ games before he broke out. Lily is about half that and he is a lot better defensively IMO especially with breakout passes

Seems he is still sick... he's the guy I think in a season like this, they should be giving a bunch of minutes to. I appreciate that many don't like him, but he's got the type of offensive skills that we need more of from the back end. We also tend to have a lot of puck possession, score a lot, and don't give up much when he's out there. That could be small samples, but I'd love to give it an further extended run.

I’m not opposed to giving Lily more reps and opportunities but he doesn’t seem like a guy who is chomping at the bit to take on a more prime role. Just the same milquetoast non defensive specialist non offensive contributor this organization churns out.

The shots come from the sides now where the s% is much better. The slapshot from the point is mostly decorative now.

Plus, if Rielly is to miss 5+ games, now is the time to give Liljegren a run and basically use him much like they do with Rielly.

Liljegren has 2 PP points on the season and hasn’t proven to be especially adept or dynamic in the little time he’s received. And I’m not even referencing the islanders game screw up.

I’m not opposed to him getting more PP time for developmental purposes at all but I don’t think it’s automatic or that he’s really earned a shot.
