Yeah I know, DeMelo was sick I just didn’t hear anything about it going through the locker room. It would make sense, though. Was just wondering if anyone reported on it or if it’s just speculation.
They played with zero energy, even in scrums there was no energy/emotion. You have to be plenty sick not to be available for a playoff game. And if it is going through the room, it really makes sense with the game then. No one was going hard at all. IVs for everyone! get it out of the system, on to Sunday

Schenn was by far the worst of them. He is god awfully slow, possibly the worst skater on the roster. His indecision directly cost us a goal and the Stan-Schenn pairing is routinely getting hemmed in their own zone. If Schenn isn't playing physical he is pretty much useless but we need better puck movers back there. Blues forecheck is coming fast and heavy and that won't be changing in game 4.

Agreed. I'd be going back to Stanley/Miller and I'd take Schenn out.

Helly needs an exorcist... or at the very least a sports psychologist. I don't care what Helly says publicly, which isn't much, but this whole "regular season god like play" VS the "what is this guy even doing in the NHL playoffs play"... has to be messing with his head. He's got to be sitting in his house staring at his Vezina Trophies wondering "where is that guy" once the playoffs start.

In the last 13 playoff games ( which is the last 2 seasons plus the current ) Helly has played just 2 games where his SV% was above 0.900. TWO!

Yeah, yeah... some are saying small sample size, but others might be saying trend.

Do I blame Helly for the loss last night? No, of course not, because the whole team ( except Perfetti ) was a pile of dog crap. But, even if the Jets get past St. Louis... we are not getting much farther unless Helly figures this out
Helle is our best player

If any team's best player doesn't play up to their capabilities, it will be tough for them to win

He hasn't let in any complete stinkers (aside from that terrible turnover) but he needs to pull some magic out of his ass... especially with Ehlers and Vilardi out

The physical play of the Blues in all the games is wearing on Morrissey, Names, Perfetti, Pionk etc.

Schenn and Stan looked slow out there. With DeMelo back I'd like to see Fleury with Miller. Much faster pair that's fresh.

Anderson Dolan has been solid, if I'm looking for a positive.
Tanev, JAD, Miller, Lowery and Perfetti were hustling but it was not our night.

Next game is pivotal

Yeah, I just don't get it with him. He's shown he can do it in 2018 and against the Oilers a couple years back. But since then he's been real poor in the playoffs.

He's the teams best player and needs to show it when it matters. We aren't going anywhere with him playing at replacement goalie levels in the playoffs.

I actually think Stanley has been pretty OK, which is a huge compliment for him

Now that was a statement game from the blues. JM with a game plan that worked. Reminiscent of Avs destroying the 2023-24 Jets. Now it’s on Arniel to adjust.

Shades of Jets wild game 3 2018 when they blew us out that game too

Either Jets go back to their game or they don’t deserve to move to the next round

Let’s chalk it up to some serious jet lag lol
Ya, we weren't winning this 4 straight. They had to play their best game, it was do or die for them.
And you're right, by all accounts we destroyed the Wild that year, but they beat us in their game 3.

And if you're planning on going far, this isn't even adversity yet. Have to overcome way worse

I will be asleep the whole game 4

It’ll be 1 AM here

But hopefully when i open social media its

5-0 Jets!!!!!

Come on boys

Show them this is different than last year.

As you mentioned that sh!+ still hurts and its on your mind… Now prove it!!!!!

Well. That was a painful game to watch.
Looking for 3rd period pushback that never happened
Everyone played badly and have to look in the mirror and be prepared for Sundays game

My copium consists of clinging to the way round one in 2018 unfolded:

I remember I had a flight to Roatan on the night of April 15th and had to watch the horror show unfold at an airport bar. The Jets responded to that on-ice abomination with two straight victories. Here's hoping that the Jets got all of that incompetent, toxic crap out of their system last night and make history repeat itself.

And can we quit riding Hellebuyck into the ground with 60+ games in the regular season?

I don't know about his positioning on the first goal and maybe he should have been there but a kick up to the stick and in was a pretty sick goal. Same with second goal, that was more Samberg not being on his guy than Helle. It was an absolute perfect pass and tip. Buch's third was a disaster and the rest was a blur.

Really really hoping this doesn't get in his head and we see a collapse by him.

We can talk about Helly's phycological space......sttil a team sport .so, in alot of those games.... why does the entire team look like ass?

Would have been interesting to see how the game went if Helle didn't embarrass himself outside the net. We just scored to make it 3-1 and you know StL and the whole arena had some worry in them. Another strong shift and could have flipped the game.

I think Hellebuyck is a quality tender. A player who can steal a series, and a star.

Any goaltender would have a tough time with the forecheck the St Louis Blues put on the Jets. That play behind the net was a problem, but he was already having to come out too often to try to help his squad in breakouts.

They are up 2-1, so I don’t want to be too negative - but the same old issues remain. They are a one line team, and pretending that Lowry or Namestnikov are 2Cs is a problem.

This is a management issue, but for some reason Chevy constantly gets a pass. Why I am not sure.

We will see if Arniel was the right choice, because if he can’t make proper adjustments - he was the wrong inexperienced hire. To blame the players when it’s basically the same team for 5+ years is something I can’t do.

Well that was ugly but after sleeping on it I'm a little less upset(Did have a nightmare last night that the Jets lost 7-2)
Think that the Jets forwards have to slow up the Blues forecheck to give our D some time
I agree that Appleton has to start being a little bit physical. He has no hands to score so he better start bringing something else to the lineup
Thought that Miller and Schenn were our poorest D
Helly needs to be better at handling the puck or stay in the net
Cole needs someone to pull the trigger on his line
That was definitely a goal
The reffing has been inconsistent but the Jets can't keep giving them easy calls
If Demelo was out with the flu we can be sure that others were feeling it too
Remember its not over till you loose at home

Chevy has tried time and time again to find a 2C on the market.

I think it at this point we only solve it by developing a player in house for it.

I think you need to give Cole a run at it next year as I doubt Yager will be ready for it. Build a line around him and see if he can transition. He already does most of the center responsibilities o the ice so might as well get him some complimentary wingers and trial it.

Agreed. I'd be going back to Stanley/Miller and I'd take Schenn out.

And the penalty minutes. He’s playing bad plus he’s taking penalties. It’s all around bad and hurting us. And he can’t be sheltered on the road in the same way that he can be at home.
