Post-Game Talk: Blues 5 - Jets 2 Series tied at 3

I mean if I had my way I'd do this (assuming Scheifele isn't back for game 7)

Connor Barron Vilardi
Ehlers Kupari Perfetti
Niederrater Lowry Iafallo
Dolan Namestnikov Tanev

Morrissey Demelo
Samberg Pionk
Stanley Miller

But that's a wild idea in a game 7.
Those are things that should have tried before we got to this point.

You have to remember that the Jets don't play man on man in the D zone... they play a Box+1. Ehlers is in his spot in the box but Perfetti wasn't
Yeah, collapse so as to protect the house. But when the puck goes up to the points, there are only 2 options -either expand the formationand get into shot lanes, or, maintain the forrmation and try to block shots. Jets seem to be caught doing neither very effectively.

Yup, lots of guys caught in between

I'm sure Arniel is playing Helle but Flaherty is probably who he is consulting on that. If Flats thought that Helle was cooked, he'd tell him.

If Helle wasn't the Vezna winner, MVP candidate and so good during the regular season, it would be a no brainier to not play him. I'm not sure anyone else gets that level of benefit of the doubt.

Stan and Schenn have to come out. There will be no fight at the end, they haven't done anything productive. Miller and Fluery are faster and fresher. More offensive threats.

Barron was great, and I'd think about putting Perfetti as 1C. Names struggled a bit and took a headshot

This could be addressed quite simply by reverting to a 2-1-2 defensively, where both D stayon either post, i foward in the mid slot, and the other 2 forwards just inside the faceoff circles. With the Blues obvious strategy, instruct the top forwards to be aggressively higher.

That's kind of what they're doing, with the player in the slot pressuring

They were just very slow to get into their structure

One of the things that stuck with me was one of the Fs after a game saying that they need to beat the Blues D into the D zone... that was the real problem there... a Jets D man having to step up on Faulk

Chevy was no shrinking violet on the ice, it's weird that as a GM his has assembled a relatively soft group of guys, rarely do they finish checks, offer no resistance to being run at. Simple put this group does not want to play in the dirty areas. Even our supposed tough guys have done nothing all series to any of the Blues better players except 1 hit by Stanley, while the Blues target Joshua and put out Scheifele.
Toninato was the most physical player out there.
Lowry must be hurt because he did get involved
This cannot happen to them but it will.
PT curse, not built for playoffs and refs hate them

I think he's absolutely not going to be in. He wasn't even skating in full equipment.
It's part of the return to play protocol for concussions... next step would be full morning skate tomorrow then he could be cleared. Him on the ice like that would tick the boxes for sport-specific and non-contact training (maybe)

That would be still leaving him a step or two short. He'd have to survive a non contact practice before being cleared for a contact one and then he'd be cleared for game.

How much contact so you expect to happen in a morning skate?

Him being in tomorrow would absolutely be the team abusing the protocol assuming that is what he's in.

I'm not sure how rigid the process is. I'm also not sure how severe his symptoms are, or why he was pulled from the game in the first place. He might have been symptom free to start, but failed the SCAT for whatever reason

If he woke up feeling fine today and wakes up feeling fine tomorrow, I bet he plays

If Scheifele is able to go tomorrow, maybe you move him to wing and have Lowry move to center on the line. That way Lowry matches up against Schenn and does a little safety patrol. Scheifele can avoid contact as needed. You then move Barron to Lowry’s spot as the 3rd line center.

Yeah, you guys make a fair point about concussion protocol. He has to pass the light aerobic workout and be symptom free to go in. If he's still concussed, then yeah, don't at all. Would rather your brain remain unscrambled.

I hope Brayden Schenn gets dropped on his head.
If he skated today, they must have had him on the bike yesterday

People are assuming it's a concussion for Chef. It may not be. It could be anything.
If Scheifele is not 100% the Jets are insane if they put him in ... first shift every Blue player on the ice will try to put a finishing hit on #55.

If Chef is cleared to play, but they are worried about him being a target ( which he is ). they could always dress him as the extra forward and just use him on the PP. Our PP looked so bad in the last game, that if all you used Chef for was PP, that would be a huge improvement.

If it was a concussion then he is a no-go for tomorrow for sure. Going through the protocol it takes about a week even in the best case scenario as there are mandated waiting windows between each step of the process. Tuesday/Wednsday is probably the earliest he can play if it was concussion and goes through every step without symptoms. I don't believe NHL allows for exceptions to the timeline no matter how good a player feels.

and had we just had average goaltending were off to the 2nd round... what does that have to do with getting hit?
Seriously? Let me help you with reading comprehension. I was responding to a post stating that we had an equal number of hits registered in the stats. Does my post make sense to you now? Great. The obviouls next queation is, what does your post have anything to do with anything I was talking about?
