All season we heard from opposing coaches how big, fast, strong and hard to play against we are. That team is in there somewhere.
mean while murat on twitter giving him a passReynolds going off on Helle on the Kenny and Renny show.
Wiebe said goaltending isn't the only issue so we shouldn't try to fix it, basically.mean while murat on twitter giving him a pass
I guess playing 1 good game out of 4 is fine enoughWiebe said goaltending isn't the only issue so we shouldn't try to fix it, basically.
I don’t know if the Jets can right the ship, but I am VERY fearful. I think the past playoff failures, but especially Helle’s awful GAA over his playoff career must have an effect. It would be normal to expect Helle and the rest of the team (since many were around for the past playoff disappointments) are mentally fragile now, and that’s what they bring to the next game. Lose Game 5 - at home no less - and it’s curtains. I don’t think the team has the mental strength to persevere.I also think both things are true and that Helle performance is a big part of the Jets' psychological 'armour'. I think when he's on the guys get a major lift. Pretty obvious but they probably all know he hasn't been his best in post season and are at least a little more fragile because of it.
Wiebe should stick with hanging out at golf country clubs sipping on lemonades rather offering these useless blurbs.Wiebe said goaltending isn't the only issue so we shouldn't try to fix it, basically.
thank you random fan from finland/cbj/mtl/laineI feel that this team is missing spirit needed to take the next step. Byfuglien style player is needed badly. 55 whines and that only decreases moral of whole team.
You are honestly not living up to your name. I am not a troll. Is that what you are calling the rest of the posters who are upset at the last 2 games???coming into the Jets board and promoting your favorite team The Laffs isn't going to win you any good will. You were mostly trolling the board all season long.
The lack of meaningful adds at the TDL really rearing its head. You mean a Brock Boeser couldn’t help this team right now? A capable LHD which are in usual ample supply?
But, I think the big thing is if we do get bounced first round… where the hell do we go from here? Helle signed long term, Scheifele..
I’d say a we’re in desperate need of:
- Big mobile Top 4 RHD with offense
- 2C
- Above replacement level 3LHD
- Some kind of top 6 to likely replace Ehlers..
Potential move of Nino… he is bordering a mass overpayment currently…
I am also in your boat. I saw the blueprint to beat the Jets several times this season put into effect. They could move on from those by playing different teams not as committed the blueprint. The blues are obviously committed for the next few games, which if the Jets cannot counteract will result in yet another first round exit.I don’t know if the Jets can right the ship, but I am VERY fearful. Like I said the last time I posted here, I WANT to be proven wrong. The Jets’ success matters more to me, so I don’t care if I look foolish sounding reactionary and panicky, as long as the Jets go deep in the playoffs, but sadly, we’ve seen this movie before.
Very well said, Finnish poster, and you are right on the money. We are missing toughness, like a Byfuglien, or a Tkachuk type of player, if we are going to make a deep playoff run.I feel that this team is missing spirit needed to take the next step. Byfuglien style player is needed badly. 55 whines and that only decreases moral of whole team.
Exactly. I know people will blame defensive play and at times it's been bad, but for the most part we've been good enough defensively this series.
We need to score more and we need some saves.
Helle is sporting an .800 save percentage this series. It's hard to blast the rest of the team when you are getting that awful of goaltending. The fact that the series is tied with our goalie playing that badly is remarkable.
If Helle can get it together we take this series. If he can't we are fighting an uphill battle as this team was designed to win lower scoring games not 5/4 barn burners like the Oilers for instance.
I disagree. This team can score. Werent we 3rd in goals for this season ?Exactly. I know people will blame defensive play and at times it's been bad, but for the most part we've been good enough defensively this series.

I feel like the last three Jets playoff series could be an extremely good twilight zone episodeIt’s like I’m in the twilight zone and watching the Atlanta Thrashers on the ice.
As long as Helle remains stationary, which will be forever because that's who he is, he will be a sub par playoff goalie. Good positioning and swallowing rebounds is great for the regular season. Playoffs are a different breed of cat. Fighting for position in close and screens, dirty goals that come from unexpected locations, that's playoffs. Guys SACRIFICE. You need the cat like reflexes to make a key save that lifts the whole bench, keeps you in a close game. Guys on top of the crease can't bother you. That's not Helle.
Were we to win this series, the next would be little different.
