Blues 2024-2025 Prospect Thread

Think it was a scratch, I saw some translated quotes on twitter, one said they didn't want to put a 19 year old in the situation they were in. To me it's sort of similar to Bolduc or Snuggerud. Just because some see "warning signs", doesn't mean there are any actual issues, and this is just normal development.
It doesn’t necessarily mean he won’t eventually be what we hope for, but is another strong indication that he isn’t ready to play significant nhl role at this point and that we can’t count on him to do so this coming season.

Yeah, I think Army has to plan on him being the 10th guy in a top 9 group, where there's enough room where if he proves he's ready, he'll have minutes, but if not, the current team isn't harmed by him being in the minors.

That’s a fair look at it IMO. You can’t go into the season with Dvorsky penciled into the lineup but if he forces his way onto the team then great. Also, there’s always injuries every season so I’m sure he’ll get his shot eventually as long as he keeps working hard.

Personally, not too concerned with how he looks at the WC this year. This Slovakian team is so bad it’s hard to get a good judgment on where he’s at with his development. Their only wins have been against France and Slovenia. They just lost 5-1 to Latvia for crying out loud. This is a bad, bad team.

I don’t want Dvo anywhere near the Blues team next. He needs at least half a season in Springfield, maybe a full season. There’s no need to rush him. He doesn’t look even close to being ready. And that’s ok. When I was 19, I barely had pubes.

I think I read somewhere that something happened to the Slovakian team just before the WC. Something to do with Satan and a political stance he made, which pissed off a bunch of players and they ended up boycotting the team or something like that? I kinda sorta glanced at something on Reddit a few weeks ago, but I'm not really sure if I'm making this up or not.

Either way, I don't think we should worry too much about Dvo. He is still extremely young, and he's already done well at the AHL level and gotten a taste of the NHL level. If I'm the Blues, I tell him he needs to work hard on his skating this summer, put on weight/gain strength, and come to camp ready to battle for a job. That's my message to him. Then I'd go out and make sure we weren't going to have to rely on him to make the team for us to ice a proper roster.

Yea here's the Reddit thread I saw:

Pekarcik apparently won the Q championship this afternoon. 4 games to 2 over Rimouski. I just checked to see if the game was on tv as knew they played today assuming it was going to be a 6pm start…well apparently it was a noon game and so it’s already over. Pekarcik had a secondary assist in a 3-2 win. Highlights can be found here:

Rimouski hosts the Memorial Cup this season so they’ll be joined by the Champs from the 3 CHL leagues - Moncton, London and Medicine Hat. Full schedule here:

It will be interesting to see what Desnoyers does in this scenario. Rimouski kept him off the scoresheet in the last 3 games.

So he’s young and needs to improve but the coach sees him as the future leader of the Slovak National team eventually.

Looks like he’s back in the lineup today. Listed as the 2C in this morning’s game vs the Finns.

Today is the last day of the WC round robin. QFs are on Thursday. This will be Dvorsky’s last game of this tourney as Slovakia won’t be moving on.

A nice shot but a little cocky considering his team was facing elimination. Korotky scores and SKA 1946 wins but still down 3-2 in their series

I love it. He’s only nineteen, and he’s producing for a top KHL team. I can forgive him for a little cockiness.

Korotky could be special, if he ever comes over. His shot, playmaking, physicality, and skating are all at least above average, and he’s a potential center. Still have faith in Susuyev as well, even though he’s likely a winger in a prospect stable full of them.

Ballsy.

The 'C' on his jersey can't possibly mean captain. What does it mean?

Just looked it up. Nikishin is captain with Bardakov, Zaitsev and Kuznetsov as the alternates.

This is his MHL squad. I don't know why he's wearing the C, but it does indeed mean Captain. Maybe their captain is out / left the team.
Ah! Thank you. I didn't understand this is the MHL playoffs. I looked at three different websites to see who is on their roster and Korotky is still listed with the KHL team. Then again, after doing different types of searches regarding the KHL, it is clear that information is not accurate across various platforms.

Thanks again!

oops MHL

Eliteprospects seems to be the only one that gets it right most of the time. Like, the KHL site says that Susuyev didn’t even play there this year.
