Blues 2024-2025 Prospect Thread

Is there a prospect you think doesn’t need to add 10-15 lbs of muscle?

Feel like you say that about everyone. And in fairness, you’re usually right haha

Haha, probably true. But Stenberg really does. But I admit, I do favor big, mean Mo-fo’s.

We're actually gonna hit on our 2020, 2021, 22 and all of our 23 1sts......

Unreal stuff.

Stenberg is a gonna be a player. High compete, disruptive and skilled with smarts. Coaches dream type of guy. Reminds me of a more talented Zetterlund
Reminds me a little of Schwartz. Not the highest skilled guy, but a nonstop motor, good quick pivots, good shot, and fearless in the corners.

How about Stenberg on the fourth line in St. Louis next year?

Stenberg Sundqvist Toropchenko
How about another season in the AHL? Get stronger and learn to dominate at that level. He will when he grows into his frame and adapts to playing in tighter quarters. Be good for several of the kids.

His pair ended up getting 3rd pair minutes, so that's an odd graphic that they did. Lindstein played the least minutes of the defensemen, just 17 minutes, their top 4 played 30+ minutes.
Lame. I guess that was too good to be true considering they were barely playing him as the 7th D to open the playoffs.

17 min/game for the top team in a league comparable in caliber to the AHL at age 20 is still pretty darn good. He’s 20 but this is still technically his age 19 season.
That was in an OT game, where the top 4 all played 30+. In the playoffs, he's been averaging 11:36. He did play 15:02 in the last game of the previous series, it was 13:02 in the one before that, which was a closer score.

The minutes he's getting is fine, and will explain lower production since he's just not in a bigger role, but his usage in a non-OT typical game is not 17 minutes. I'm of the opinion that these games with any amount of minutes are valuable for his development. For Stenberg it was coming over here, but for Lindstein, he's now had valuable playoff runs the past 2 seasons in Sweden.

That’s fair. But agree his ice time is fine at his age. They dress 7 D over there so yeah, the 6-7 guys aren’t going to see a lot of time. I’d like to see him in the AHL next season though.

I agree, I think it made sense for him to have stayed over there the full year since he was going to get playoff time. I think for next season, we'd either need some assurance of bigger minutes or he should be in Springfield, and ideally, he'll be in Springfield.

Kingston got eliminated so Burns is done in the OHL. Just wondering, is it still allowed to add him to Springfields roster or does he have to wait untill the start of next season?

He was thrown out in the 2nd period slewfooting Kashawn Aitcheson. Getting a bit fed up with the embellishment BS in the junior games. Players see a top player check them and act like they got struck by a missile. It’s like watching soccer.

So you’re saying Aitcheson dove? Happen to have video of it anywhere?

I saw where Aitcheson scored twice last night in Game 7. And thought this was an interesting stat:

I would assume he’d be eligible but would they still add him considering the playoffs start tonight? That idk. But maybe, as long as they don’t think he’d be a distraction. Probably just for practices, video meetings etc. Serve as a black ace, try to soak in some of the pro experience for as long as the T-Birds season lasts (could be done in 2 more days if they lose the first 2 games of this 3 game series).

With his size and skating ability, do you think Pekarcik has a shot at making the jump sooner than anticipated? I also think Kaskimaki may be ready for a 4th line role before Stenberg, even though the latter has a higher ceiling.

NHL getting that way too. Toronto was downright embarrassing in game 1 of their series. I wish the NHL would crack down hard on it before it gets worse. The star players are some of the worst offenders, which is embarrassing.

That's exactly my line of thoughts. Let him get a small taste of what it means to be a pro so he gets a bit of a headstart for next season. He doesn't need to actually play, but let him be in the room as he could very well be an important player for them in the near future.

Let’s just say after suffering a gunshot wound and losing bodily functions to be guided off the ice by a trainer with a towel…Jesus must have touched him…he was a new man.
