Blues 2024-2025 Prospect Thread

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

The first round of the NCAA tournament starts on March 27-28. If Minnesota loses, we will likely see Snuggerud on the team as early as April.

Interesting timing on the call up for Dvorsky. I'm wondering if they think Buch will be out again and think Dvorsky will give us more than Texier.

I'm still a little leery about plugging the kids into this roster right now with the team humming along like they are.

Honestly think that Buch is having Post Concussion Syndrome. That hit he took a few days ago was really f***ing bad. And most PCS symptoms can be initially thought of as being sick. Monty said he's day to day right now.

Hugh “Cha-Ching” McGing would give us more than Texier. Dude is not a good fit on this roster.

This is a good move regardless how much Dvo plays.

Teams absolutely firing right now and playing a really good brand of hockey. Springfields been faltering.

He’ll get some games in and even more importantly get accustomed to where the Blues are at right now, which is where we want to be.

Heard that Buch is sick and that Sunny was ill as well. Team almost went 11/7 today, but Sunny gave it a go. Guessing Dvorsky draws in if both Buch and Sunny can't go tomorrow. Nothing against Dvo, but I think with his past NHL experience, Alexandrov would have been a better choice.

I think waivers is the reason they didn’t call up Alexandrov. They didn’t wanna lose him in the playoffs.

Didn't think of that. I thought if a guy played less than 10 games or was up for less than 30 days though, they didn't require waivers?? Also, couldn't he be an emergency recall as they would be out of FWDs if both Buch and Sunny were out??

I hope you're wrong but you're probably right.
This is my concern too. Hopefully Buchy is just sick but also wouldn’t be surprised if it’s PCS.

In any event, I’m excited to see Dvorsky play today. No, he’s not fully NHL ready yet but neither was Bolduc or Dean a year ago when they were called up. It’ll be good for him to get a taste of the NHL. See how quick the pace is. I don’t expect him to stay with the Blues for long but I guess that depends on who all remains sick/injured and how the kid does.

Looking forward to seeing the pre-game solo skate. Big day for the kid.

Not sure if it's been posted, but Elite Prospects just released their Top 100 Under 23 list. Here are the Blues on the list:

44. Dylan Holloway
62. Dalibor Dvorsky
67. Jimmy Snuggerud
93. Jake Neighbours

I’m not sure that I can get behind Holloway at 44. I’m sure they’d started working on this list a while ago and are factoring a bit more than this season on that.

But Holloway is pretty clearly a good top 6 wing at 23. He has the toolset to eclipse the good top 6 wing tag as well and is positioned pretty well to do so.

Holloway is 24th in scoring amongst NHL players of ALL ages since Jan 1, but he’s ranked 44th for players under 23, which includes players who haven’t set foot in the NHL. Laughable.

Stancl should definitely be joining Springfield but it’d be nice if Fischer and Mayich can as well. Not sure they really have the need for them to play but to at least practice with the pros to finish out the season and then maybe play if there’s some injuries would help their development.

Mayich is a lot like Tucker. May not be a bad add to have a kid who will drop them

I’m really looking forward to see what Fischer can do at the pro level.
