If we end up picking #18 Braeden Cootes might be our guy. He is a center.
Kelowna game is on Youtube tonight. Max Graham, Kelowna's captain is injured and is in the booth; he said that Stancl will be joining Springfield after his junior season ends. Not really surprising, but good to hear. The Kelowna Rockets' season will end this Sunday and they won't be making the playoffs. Gotta wonder if Stancl will play elsewhere since March is a little early to start the off-season prior to prospects camp.
Honestly, I can’t wait. I’m not sure the extent of the injuries to the prospects we have there. They can be hard to watch right now. If Ellis or Z don’t stand on their head making saves, then it will be a buttkicking. There is progress. Stenberg keeps getting better and will be a player. I have higher hopes for him right now. Dvo is looking more like he could eventually be an NHL center. He is still a year in the AHL away 20 goals or not. He needs to grasp the idea of 200 foot hockey and the little things like blind backhand passes to the middle in his own zone, faceoffs, finding a guy to in the soft spot to cover, etc. He is getting better though he may have to go to the wing. I hope not. Personally, I think another year in the AHL dominate with a 75 point season and clean up his defensive game would serve him well to what his expectations at the next level are. Ride the shuttle some next year.Kelowna game is on Youtube tonight. NoDo we expect Lindstein in the AHL next year too?
I do, but it's been fairly mixed-messaging all around. Around the WJC Dave Taylor (I think that's who I'm thinking of, could be another Blues brass) said he would be back in Sweden next year. Then I think Lindstein's agent said he was coming to NA, and Lindstein suggested the same. I'm fuzzy on details, but that was the vibe.Do we expect Lindstein in the AHL next year too?

If he does come to NA, I expect him in Springfield. He's still only 20, and idk if he's got the juice to push past the logjam we have at LHD in the pros. I would be pleasantly surprised to be proved wrong, and I wouldn't put it past him, but I'd say 70/30 he's AHL-bound if he does come over.
I’m sure it’ll come via minor trades, but we’re gonna have to move out some of these lower end LHD prospects this summer. Especially if Theo is coming over.
If that were to happen, you’d have to imagine Springfield’s left side would be Lindstein/Buchinger/Loof on an every night basis.
Burns and Mayich should be making the jump to the pros after this year, Gaudet is probably just an AHL depth piece, and even though he isn’t a prospect, Scheuneman is signed for another year after this.
