It would be as a winger. He doesn’t skate well enough to be a center. He does more than enough at the AHL to create, finish, and defend. Good pick pocket and anticipater. Honestly, he is not afraid to make a bold move to the net. Actually, a bit nuts in what he will try.
I knew the guy was skilled. That’s why he was my #5 prospect at one time. Last year was a big downer, but if he can beat one of our younger prospects to a wing position, then I’ll be happy. Not surprised. Just happy.

We have a good problem if one of Alexandrov, Kaskimaki or Robertsson can force their way onto the Blues’ roster.

My money would be on Robertsson. Very smart player. He doesn’t have to put up points to help you. Very good defensively. Good shot blocker. I think he’s a top 9.

Honestly, I think all three could eventually force themselves on the roster as will be constructed (after a potential firesale when it comes to our older forwards) while the other kids grow in Springfield. They're definitely good enough to play in the NHL somewhere. We have a very, very good problem.

Quite possible.

I know we have some nice future pieces on the way, but we need guys right now to take charge.

I don’t think all three will stick, but all three may get their taste during the next transition.

The Blues are still 2-3 years away from being serious playoff opponents.

Right, and eventually guys like Stancl, Pekarcik, Jecho, Kos, Mrsic, possibly Korotky, possibly Susuyev, possibly many others on our draft radar this year could force their way onto the roster.

I feel that our prospect pool is deeply underrated and as deep in potential NHL talent as I've seen it.

We are very deep, but we still lack truly elite pieces.

If the white flag flies and Schenn and Faksa are dealt, I see no reason to not give Alexandria a legit shot. Maybe he has found something, or maybe he is just Walmart Jim Campbell.

Looks like Adam Jiricek played last night during the goal #60 game of Nick Lardis and future Blue Jake O’Brien had two helpers.

I really like the idea of adding an O'Brien or a Desnoyers this draft if we don't have a defenseman we absolutely love, I'm a bit torn between him and Desnoyers. Every report in regards to Desnoyers raves of the character and labels him as a winner. I think having 3 high end young centers would help overcome not having a traditional superstar. I think defense specifically RHD is more of a pressing need as I think you can be completely fine with what I've seen of Broberg and Lindstein with those two as top 4 guys, as long as their partners are the key cogs of the pairing.

I was
Soupy's rookie season made him look like Wayne Gretzky compared to Alexandrov.
I was looking more at Soups rep of being a one dimension career AHL player, until Keenan gave him a chance. Alexandria may be in that same mold.. Or not. And, I did say WalMart Soup...not a big compliment

Correct. Korotky is not sniffing anywhere close to what Kaprisov did in his D+2 in the KHL. Granted, circumstances are different, but the numbers are not close.
Well, Korotky is in his D+1 season, and that comp is a bit better. Plus, SKA is a much deeper team than the one Kaprisov played on....so yeah, not that similar yet, and not nearly as much ice for Korotky.

Thank you for the clarification.
