I know size isn’t everything, but we’ve drafted some pretty big dudes these past couple years

Fischer - 6’5
Ralph - 6’5
Juricek - 6’3
Mcisaac - 6’3
Dvorsky - 6’1
Pekarcik - 6’3
Jecho - 6’3
Stancl - 6’3
Kos - 6’2
Snuggs - 6’1
Love the size. And a lot of those guys skate well.

My confidence in Snuggy has increased with him going into beast mode and taking absolute charge of that team. THIS is what I wanted to see.

It just seems like he always has time and space to shoot. What happens as he progresses to the next level? Can he continue without time and space?
Rumors of his demise were greatly exaggerated

Thanks! What about Lukas Fischer? He seems to be progressing too. Where do you see his projection?

Everything is coming together nicely for Fischer the last few months after that late start due to injury recovery. If you recall, I was a big fan of his prior to the draft last year. It's easy to forget that he's only a few days from being first time eligible this year. The defensive game has become more consistent. The physical game has become more consistent. He's being more aggressive offensively. The shot has become a huge weapon for him. He's got a really heavy one timer from the right side and he's letting it rip. I believe that there is a good chance that he's one of the best defenders in the OHL next season.

Adding the Dvorsky highlights

I have to say, for a guy who gets dinged a lot for skating. He looked pretty good here. Another point that I make all the time speed means very little if you can't control the puck with speed. Good to see him flying and handling the puck at top speed.

If he ever skated at top speed, then he probably wouldn’t have got dinged for it. Lately, he has picked up his pace and not just a little. It is noticeable. He did a lot of coasting and slowing play down which doesn’t work in his favor.

Good to hear. He needs to just stay on the farm and keep improving. Thanks for the updates!

I’d like to see him get some nhl games this year. I don’t think he is ready, but I want him to understand speed of nhl games to get full sense of where he needs to be. I think his feet are fine, it’s his pace that needs to improve. Great that he has picked it up, but feel like he can get even better. His puck skills are elite. If we can stay patient his upside is immense.

Fischer's last six games have been eye opening. 7 goals, 3 assists, goals in 5 of 6 and points in all 6. Seven days younger and he's in the 2025 draft. If this player keeps improving at the rate he has been the Blues have an absolute horse back there. I don't even want to say the name of the player he skates like, but he does skate like that player.

I had him #6 to start the season ... he is the defenseman who is the most EXCITING in the entire org at the moment, because of what he could be. He has #1D ceiling IMO

Thunderbirds posted photo from AHL skills event last night of Dvo with Nemec. Other than, yes let's get Nemec too, it struck me that Nemec looks like a man and Dvo looks like a kid. There is only 17 month age difference, but good reminder how young Dvo is and how we need to be patient with him.

I’d love to make a move for Nemec. I’m just sure what my offer would be.

A top-10 protected 1st would go a long way, it's risky though. In an ideal world, you could make that deal and that gives Jersey a better trade chip for immediate help, and we finished 11th-16th. I'd still be happy to be in the top 10 and keep the pick, but then next season, they better improve significantly.

Neighbours is in theory another option. I'd be curious what the difference in value around the league Nemec would have vs Jiricek.
