Stancl scores

Stole the puck and ENG and was always going to steal the puck and get an ENG there

Stancl unselfishly gives it to Paupanekis for another ENG. they don’t give him an assist though

My take on Braeden Cootes is that he's good, he's involved, but he doesn't have the size. I don't think I would be happy with either Seattle pick.

Let's say they take Mrtka, ok great size decent skater. Puck skills are so far below similarly situated peers that it would be a mistake to pick him. You are not getting a #1D man out of this.

Stancl had a breakaway in the first period that he generated from a steal but it was saved. He led his team with 4 shots and had a goal and was +3. He was f***ing awesome. He was out there seemingly every other shift.

Kelowna's goalie was great, saving 50 of 52, the entire third period was at the other end 25 shots in the period

Thanks. I was thinking the same thing in regards to Cootes. Mrtka to me as well as a later round project. 1st is way too rich. This draft talent wise really drops off quick.

Our prospects had a ridiculous weekend, let me just go down the list off the top of my head

Dvorsky had a couple of assists yesterday, plays today and tomorrow
Lindstein is getting 16-18 minutes the last couple games and had an assist yesterday
Stenberg made his NA pro debut with 1+1, plays today and tomorrow
Snuggy had three goals in 2 games this weekend
Stancl has 5 goals and 2 assists in his last 4, was awesome when I saw him last night, just a complete player.
Jiricek had 1+2 on Friday
Fischer had a hat trick Friday
Ralph had an assist yesterday
Kaskimaki 1+1 yesterday, plays today and tomorrow
Jecho had a goal Friday and 2+2 Saturday
Pekarcik had a goal and an assist Thursday
Burns didn't play yesterday and was pointless Friday, what is up with this slacker, he plays today 11am pacific
Kos had a 5 point game on his return from WJC
Mrsic had 3 goals and 3 assists in 2 games
McIsaac had a goal and an assist Friday and was +1 in a 4-2 loss yesterday

this is a wild situation, we have never had it going like this, even back in the days of Schwartz at CC and streaming Tarasenko's games at 4am

Looking forward to Stenberg today. He is just a high end hockey processor, plays the game at a pro's speed. He's above Snuggy on my list because of the speed and the nonstop motor. Stenberg also has a lethal shot in his arsenal

btw I think Mrsic leads the WHL in PPG now (sorry power play goals, he leads with 14. not "points per game" that's Cristall)

A line of Stancl Dvorsky and Stenberg on it is what I want to see. Both Stenberg and Stancl, you give them an inch of space or make a mistake, they are going to pounce on you. They are just guys who are on it. Skilled, devious, opportunists. There's going to be a shot on your net really quickly. All three guys have lethal shots. All three are super smart players. I want to see it together.

As to who's on RW, both Stancl and Stenberg are swiss army types. Stancl plays plenty of LW and may be best suited there or at C in the NHL, it's tough to say just yet. Played RW at least a bit in the WJC, and when he is out there defensively, the is controlling the game like a dominant soccer midfielder, really taking a role of center. He can pounce and succeed on the cycle, very strong puck battler on 50/50 pucks. It is like watching a skilled coach play the game. He is really dangerous coming down left wing, that is his most comfortable attack. But he is playing a game for winning the middle of the ice and Montgomery is going to love that soon. He gives that sturdy Ulf Dahlen vibe
