McIsaac is a sleeper RHD for sure. Size is there and he looked very good the other night against Kelowna. He was much more noticeable than in past viewings

Just to not get ahead of ourselves, Buchinger, Gaudet, Dickinson, and Laferriere put up gawdy numbers in juniors too. It’s encouraging to say the least, but it may or may not translate to the next level.
“Gawdy” is being generous. Buchinger was a very good junior player, but none of those other guys put up numbers that indicated they would be pro staples. With Gaudet you hoped his defense was the main driver of his value. With Dickinson you hoped the speed translated better at higher levels. With Laffy… idk and I still don’t think we should have drafted him

i'll admit i didn't know much about McIsaac when the Blues selected him in the 5th but it has the makings of another Matt Kessel in the the 5th kind of pick.

I still wish the Blues would have taken Kieron Walton, especially by the 5th round as he eventually slipped to the 6th. I had him in the 3rd/4th pretty easily. I'm guessing there's attitude and entitlement issues there but the upside was significant and he's dominating this year in Sudbury getting top minutes. Feels like a missed opportunity to me with how much they had to have seen him watching Dvorsky last year. Oh well.

is a ridiculous potential d core in the next 2-3 years filled with size, skill, speed and physicality.

I think Quentin Burns also has some potential and as a bonus can play either side on D.

Will McIssac has sleeper potential as a RHD. He plays a very mature game, skates well and doesn't mind getting physical at all. I was most impressed in camp with his passing, especially long stretch passes in transition tape to tape. Did it a number of times.

I think there may be a few others that have NHL potential such as Buchinger and Loof but they will make way for the guys listed above.

Personally I think Fischer could wind up the best of him Ralph and Jiricek....and thats not taking anything away from them. I just see Fischer having massive upside potential. Still raw and a long way to go but top 4 top end is there.

I think we got major steals in Ralph and Fischer.

Yep I agree.

I remember having Ralph earmarked at the 81st pick if he was still there but I knew he was rising throughout the year even though I thought 48th was a bit rich at the time.

I loved Fischer at 56th.

With Ralph, especially after watching him in the WJC....I didn't realize he could skate as well as he does. I didn't see that speed in prospect camp.

I know they are really high on him. I remember an interview with Feltrin where he said they feel they got 2 great players in the draft meaning him and Jiricek. I can see it and I think they do as well, but he has the makings of a potential Parayko type of dman.

That is.. something

I was super impressed with his skating at the WJC as well. Definitely see the upside. It’ll be interesting to track his development.
