Just a huge night for Stancl. 5 points, hat trick, 2 assists.

Stancl cleared the puck out of the d zone repeatedly.

Crossbar and a post kept him from 3g+4a

[Here's hoping the "balance" shows up, to point out the turnovers they didn't like and maybe when he comes up from South America next year he might on track to one day be a bottom 6er]

Stancl has 17 goals + 20 assists in his last 23 games in the WHL + WJC and led his team to a bronze medal and landed on the all tournament WJC team. During that tournament just like tonight he could have plenty more points, easily.

His team is also in 8th out of 11 and traded Caden Price and Andrew Cristall away at the deadline. Iginla is out for the year. It's kind of just him now. Prince George played a physical game and has owned Kelowna in the last couple years their PBP was saying. Stancl just buried Prince George, by far the best player on the ice
The new guy on his line Hayden P. I’m not going to begin to spell it…. Is a pretty impressive draft eligible. Big center/forward skates well. Good passer. Not passive at all.

Buffalo, Calgary, Detroit, Philly, SJ, and Seattle I’d put behind us.

He really leans into the STAHHHN-SHUL of it all.

I have to say listening to it along with the action, he is very accurate with his description. But because he has no color guy he has no restraints
I like it...I figure there has to be some long-time, institutional broadcasters for some of these old school CHL teams. He seems like one of those...

It is really awesome! Loves his job and is quite colorful in his broadcast. Watched it this morning. What did you think of Will Sharpe and Hayden P....I don't want to hurt myself....

Paupanekis, yeah he's 6"4" at 17 got traded from Spokane at the deadline and has 26 pts (11+15) thru 40 games this year. Will definitely keep an eye on it

And Sharpe was skating very well last night looked like a player. They're going to need help losing all of Iginla Cristall and Price

Notice the quick stick tap on the first goal, look how fast he recognized it and demanded the puck. He has an excellent sense of CHANCE RIGHT NOW, which is why he is so consistently dangerous creating chances.

Yes, I have mentioned this before. Even within the LW position, we already have Buch, Holloway, and Neighbours there already. Where is Stenberg gonna go? We could shift Holloway to the middle (provided he gets better at faceoffs) but where that does leave Schenn or Dvorsky? We could shift Neighbours to the right side but where does that leave Kyrou, Snuggerud, or Bolduc?

Someone's gotta go in 1-2 years. I can see slow growth in Bolduc, but he will need to take a significant step forward next year or I could see him traded, especially if Snuggerud starts scoring early. It goes without saying that Schenn will need to be traded as well, and hopefully Thomas gets the captaincy either next summer or the one after.
Highly doubtful Schenn is gonna get moved, I see him taking the Steen path where eventually he’s gonna be a 4th liner and will probably retire a Blue

I can see your reasoning for all the teams to put behind us figuring out who is still a prospect with the exception of Detroit. They are loaded.

I'm not a huge fan of Strickland, but Stancl makes an appearance on his podcast around (30:00).

Team like San Jose has boatload of young talent, but their top guys are already in nhl.

For Detroit, kasper and edvinsson have been up all year so if we don’t count them I think they slot behind us. They mostly have secondary guys as prospects. Danielson is nice but I think dvo has much more upside. Asp obviously looks like star right now, but I question how it translates as smaller d without high end speed. I still like him 3rd among Swedish u20 d.

I've done a lot of things in this world but there was only ever one "thing I wanted to be when I grew up" and it was "be Dan Kelly" so when I was listening to him call the game I was comparing my own potential to him and he definitely wins. "Giddy up! Giddy up Jakub!" I wouldn't have said that but he is right, that's what you should yell there ... LOL
