Well, what makes you say this?
He plays a very smart game and has the skills required to be a top line defender. I’m no way saying this is set in stone as he plays a passive style of game that will hinder him if he keeps it up. But are you saying this because you don’t see the talent or ability? Or is it because that’s a more reasonable expectation of any player?
To me Pietrangelo is one of the best ever Blues to lace them up, had a top 5 draft pedigree, and during his Blues tenure he would be in the conversation for the best player on the ice any given night.
While Lindstein is showing solid signs of development, to be on a Pietrangelo trajectory he would already need to be regarded as the Blues current best prospect above Dvorsky, this board had him(Lindstein) rated #3. In addition, Lindstein was left off a ton of league-wide top 100 prospect lists as well. Pietrangelo at the same age would be a top 10 prospect on those lists.
Im excited about Lindstein in general, but im tempering expectations to a solid 2-way middle pairing Dman, who has a long career, and can put up 25-35 pts regularly. Albeit an important player, no where close to a Pietrangelo-type impact player.
