Yeah, certainly some truth in what I said. A game report i read basically said the same thing as he handles their top defensive minutes.

Like if Parayko gets ejected on his first shift, it's going to be a long night for all of us.
That’s been true since last year. The announcer made a similar comment in last nights game. It’s like Burns is on the ice all the time. The other replied if he was on our team I would want him on the ice all the time.

Look I know it's two plays, but I look at this kid and see a star. If he can stay healthy, I think we look back on Jiricek as one of our best recent draft picks.

Well he scored both goals up by 5 goals. I wouldn’t get too carried away. He was outshined by his partner in the games I watched. Owen Protz is a pretty impressive prospect for Montreal. Do I see a top 4? Yes, but I would like to see him more engaged.

He's got a lot to work on, no doubt. I think he's got that undefinable "it" factor though. I can't throw any numbers around to support that, it's just what I see in how he plays. He's got swagger.

He missed a lot of development time. His D partner who has played 66 games last year and 30 this year should look better than a guy who missed most of last year and only played 6 games this year.

It's not about who looks better now, but how AJ looks in 3 or 4 to 10 years.

Great to see! Hopefully he can stay healthy for the rest of the year.

The Blues haven't had a D-man who can drive to the net like Jiricek does in a long time. Well, prior to getting Broberg anyway and Parayko doing it once in awhile. I could see Jiricek developing into a similar player as Broberg.

He looks really wiry, athletic and assertive in his play. Makes things look easy because of it. I think that’s the it factor you’re talking about.

I have no question there will be some headaches if he keeps up his style, but it could be really dominating. Really looking forward to watching him at the WJC. Feel like alot of us will have close eyes on Czech, Sweden and Slovakia this year for good reason.

What’s our prospect count at the tournament right now 7?

Jircek
Kos
Stancl
Jecho
Dvorsky
Lindstein
Stenburg

Am I missing anyone?

Maybe Ralph if he made the USA team and Pekarcik for Slovakia.

Jiricek would have been a top 10 pick had he not gotten hurt. May have been the top D taken but definitely top 3. A pairing of him and Broberg will be so tough to play against because they can turn pucks around so fast with either their skating or great passing. I love Parayko but he isn't the greatest passer and doesn't have the best acceleration either. He can fly when he gets going though.

Still plenty of question marks with A Jiricek, but I'm pleased with the clips I've seen. My primary concern on draft day was that his skating would be permanently impacted by the knee injury. I don't see any limitations to his skating from the clips I've seen so far. I also don't see hesitancy or timidness that can sometimes come from suffering a couple legit injuries in 1 year.

It's tough because we clearly need a healthy #1 defenseman who can skate and play the way Jiricek does, but it is soooo many avoided hits away from being something reliable and on the actual Blues roster. Lot of time to go, this story isn't written
