So other day putzing around YouTube of course to catch some Fed action and to my surprise what the heck happened to the Apex Center! Not only is it named Hitachi Energy Center buy holy smoke show the improved seating is incredible. They did a heck.of a job in the off season. Is it the Madison Square or Boston Garden, well obviously no. They did do a great job however at making a barn into a viable "BARN" for minor league hockey.

Yeah it’s great considering that it’s behind a travel plaza on I-81.
Hey that's good planning, lots of Canadian and New England truckers heading along the I-81 corridor lol might want to catch a game. Hey, sure makes it easy for the I-81 travelers, including their rivals. All ya need is a liquor store, gun shop, fireworks super Center, and a clean but no frills motor inn to complete the utopia lol.

Now if only they could do something about the camera position for the Youtube feed so the stanchion on the far left side of the camera platform doesn't block the near side of the ice when the puck is in that corner!

I was caught by surprise when I caught the game and saw the investments to the Apex Center. Not only does the name rights give them some cash but to really get out there in the short off season and make those nice improvements to the seating should give the fan base in the region some confidence that this is a commitment to make a very enjoyable experience to not only hockey but other events as well. Way too often the Fed has placed teams in subpar arenas "rec rinks" and you just knew or had a gut feeling this franchise or market is already doomed. I certainly thought that about the Bobcats. Years ago thought same thing when the United League announced a team in Danbury's arena.

Last seasons attendance numbers for the Bobcats wasn't all together too bad. I thought they were pretty good for a rodeo rink masquerading as a minor pro hockey arena. Saturday without knowing the off season's investments I was pretty caught off guard, I was actually excited lol (I get excited easily now in my 50s) for the fans down there, the arena looks really decent, they did a good job at getting the expanded seating in there. The sight lines actually appear to be better with what appears to be steeper seating, any Bobcat regulars on here to add your two cents, and photos?
