he's been consistent but he doesn't have top six level hands or passing ability. if you have him and jenner on your top line, you are in trouble unless the third is crosby or mcdavid.

Johnny likes to create tap ins to the crease and these guys score mainly from the crease so it has some potential to work.

glad to see Danforth in the first line, he's really good and he adds something positive in each line he's playing. he is quite skilled with the puck, and often uses his skates to move it. I think he'll be one of the best blue jackets this year. Disappointed that he's not playing in the 4th line with Kuraly and Texier.

I don't like the line change, only because Fantilli-Laine has struggled for a while now and they only looked respectable with Danforth. They still need him. I don't think it is going to work with KJ there.

If you could have two Danforths though I'd have no problem with him across from Gaudreau. He's a beast in front of the net and on the cycle, it should be better for Johnny to play off of than KJ.

I would have done this:

Gaudreau - Jenner - Marchenko
Danforth - Fantilli - Laine
Chinakhov - Voronkov - KJ
Robinson - Kuraly - Texier
