GDT: Blue Jackets @ Canes: It’s Technically Gameday

Super early edition because I can’t sleep.

Probably Freddie in net. Probably KK on the 2nd line. Everything else, probably the same. We scored first last game. We should try to do that again. We should also try and convert on the powerplay occasionally, but that appears to be a Herculean task.

Blue Jackets are on the second half of a back-to-back after putting the beating down on the Leafs yesterday. There was a hattrick, but it wasn’t from Marchenko or Werenski, so they’re still loaded up to score on us today. Stopping those guys from scoring seems like a good idea, but I’m just an outside observer. We’re paying the Canes players $87 million total, so if they want to leave those guys open like last game, I’m sure they know better.

They just beat down on the Leafs last night 5-1. They're 7-2-1 in their last 10.

It's fun & inspiring seeing the Jackets in a playoff spot right now. I've been hoping they can make a playoff run in honor of Johnny Hockey. Their team & fanbase deserve it. Will be cheering for them this year if the Canes get knocked out and they're still in it.

And all that said, I'd still like to see the Canes win tonight.
