GDT: Blue Jacket vs Capital 6pm (Clinch? + R1 adversary?)

I demand to be able to complain about something all the time.
You should have done that demand 7 years ago. The answer would have been "no" but i don't see the point to ask now, to do what you are doing for all those years :sarcasm:

There's still two more games to go for jackets after this one. They'll need a 6 games winning streak to make it and we'll need to lose our games. The jackets have 9 six games winning streak since their creation in 97 so 9 in almost 30 years. They already have one this year so what is the likelihood they get a 2nd one? Extremely low.
If they beat Caps again today, and if they have something to play for when they play Philly, I don’t think they will lose. Same goes with their game against the Isles.

WE JUST HAVE TO DO THIS OURSELVES!

You don't can a coach when you went from a 76-point season to an 88-point season. That's a 12-point increase with 2 games remaining.

Sure, their starts haven't been good lately. But the reason they were able to mount a lot of comebacks is because they were able to adjust. And that is also a quality a coach has.
But you can't constantly expect your team to adjust and come back, especially in the playoffs where starting well matters since it's a grind.

Plus, whether you're going from 0-3 down to tied 3-3 or being up 3-0 to tied 3-3, the net result is the same. It's just blowing leads to start a game.

In the last 4 games which should each be treated essentially as must-wins, we've been outshot 142-75. That's nothing short of pathetic, and not indicative of a playoff team. We've been bailed out by solid goaltending, but our defensive structure hasn't been good, we haven't generated shit for chances, and our powerplay has gone ice cold. Which of those is he not responsible for?

Have to tip your cap to CBJ, they are coming up in the clutch right now. We shouldn’t leave our success to other teams.
We are not. Since april 1st we are 5-1-1 3rd in the NHL in P%.

Since march 1st we are 11-5-5 10th in the league in P%.

At one point they can't win them all. Columbus needs a miracle run to make it i'd consider this making the playoffs by the front door no mater what happens.

Damn, I didn't realize Fantili was at 28 goals.

Oh well, we'll just have to clinch ourselves tomorrow against Chicago. It's better that way anyway.

Flyers is a very dangerous team atm maybe the most dangerous in the league league beside the ones still fighting for a playoffs spot. The team had a rough year and they all want to impress the new coach for next year.

I agree…they certainly have improved greatly Post Torts.

They didn't "need" it. They beat us the other night which would've done it either way.

They needed Habs the night they clinched. Sure they would have eventually. But the night they did, they couldn't do it themselves.

Habs still don't "need" Columbus to lose, but it's not looking good the way they've been playing (and yes, even in the wins they've been bad).

It's not exactly the way Habs have been playing the issue. It's their starts. Because they still adjust and become the better team, which is why they've mounted comebacks and won. The exception was Ottawa on Friday.

Even yesterday in Toronto, they played better.

Most of the problems this team has are hallmarks of a young inexperienced team, not badly coached one.

Not many teams are icing a blue line that has 3-4 guys on it that have under 200 games of experience each. Not many teams are icing a top 6 that are all 26 and under.

Again, I get that but regardless of experience you need to be able to coach a team in must-win games to at least be competitive. Putting up 75 shots across 4 games is not competitive. Playing 15-odd games without a lead through 20 is not competitive.

MSL has done well so far and gotten us here, but I don't think he's a coach that gets you through the playoffs since he doesn't seem to be a good motivator and he certainly doesn't seem to be good tactically.
