They basically went searching for a reason to allow the goal. It only took them 7 minutes. It wasnt propelled in to the net. The puck was rotating.
It's a conspiracy!Just saying ask any fan of a Canadian team if they are shocked this was called this way...
He wasn’t making a save attempt. He put it in his own net.NHL got it wrong. It was kicked, goalie tried to stop it and it went in. No goal every day of the week except this one. NHL then created some BS reasoning to make it a goal.
I disagree. That is considered a save attempt the rest of the year.He wasn’t making a save attempt. He put it in his own net.
Ah, now this is where possession actually does matter. Since the Jets never had possession, him batting the puck into his net didn’t negate possession. If Helly put the puck into his own net, why was the goal awarded 2 assists?
A puck needs to be going on net to be a save attempt.I disagree. That is considered a save attempt the rest of the year.
No it doesn't it just needs to be going towards the net, otherwise blocker or glove saves that were going wide wouldn't be considered saves either.A puck needs to be going on net to be a save attempt.
There is no such thing as the goalie propelling it in to your own net, after a puck was kicked. Somebody help me find that in the rulebook. This was a mistake. It shouldnt have counted and gave Dallas the win.
Because the previous goal doesn't change the course of a tight game or anythingDallas scored two further goals and Winnipeg scored none. Without the goal, Dallas wins 4-2.
We all know that is not how hockey works. That goal contributed to changing the game and what happened afterDallas scored two further goals and Winnipeg scored none. Without the goal, Dallas wins 4-2.
Had he batted the puck into the corner as he intended, it wouldn’t have been counted as a save. The puck wasn’t on net.No it doesn't it just needs to be going towards the net, otherwise blocker or glove saves that were going wide wouldn't be considered saves either.
I agree. Regular season in a game the former ref analyst, in a similar situation, pointed out that angling the skate is not an issue. You have to actually make an obvious kicking motion at the puck in an attempt to kick it in the net. That didn't happen in the case in today's game. He clearly changed the angle of his skates without kicking the puck.I don’t think he even made a kicking motion to begin with. Looked more like he just angled his skate. Doesn’t matter. Would have been 4-2 if it was ruled no goal.
Refs might not hate the Leafs, but I DO!You've already turned this into a "refs hate the Leafs" thread, impressive...
Right. He just happened to be standing in the goalie area and the puck just magically came out of nowhere for him to touch it.Had he batted the puck into the corner as he intended, it wouldn’t have been counted as a save. The puck wasn’t on net.
So a goalie who is out of a crease on a puck shot in from blue and attempts to play it with his stick to shoot it to the corner is a shot goal? Who knew.No it doesn't it just needs to be going towards the net, otherwise blocker or glove saves that were going wide wouldn't be considered saves either.
I don't even know what you are trying to say.So a goalie who is out of a crease on a puck shot in from blue and attempts to play it with his stick to shoot it to the corner is a shot goal? Who knew.
