We roll our 4th line against anyone. Many times we regret it but we do it.

Can't dispute that. I do get a LOL moment every once in a while seeing McCarron trip himself trying to defend a guy like MacKinnon too.

I wonder if it was just swinging the pendulum back to the other side though. The team that won the President's Trophy was remarkably balanced. We could roll all 4 lines against anybody and win a lot of games. But we didn't have a lot of goons and could get exploited a bit by a team with a heavier game.

Post-Lavi, we tried to get bigger and more physical, but we also got a lot slower and less skilled.

Now we're not terribly physical, fast, or skilled. We just suck.

In the regular season it worked but once the playoffs started and the heavier game picked up we got exploited.

I will go to my grave thinking this but we lost Neal, Wilson and Fisher between the Cup run and the Presidents trophy. We did get Fisher back but having not played most of the season, I didn’t feel he was as sharp as he had been and losing his linemates was also hard. They were a big, physical line that was made for playoff hockey and while our first two lines were still very good, not having that third line killed us in the series against Winnipeg.

We haven’t been the same since.

If Trotz can't look at what the Blues have done after a coaching change and realize he f***ed up by not firing Bruno then there is no hope for us

All right, so maybe I was wrong...

I still have hope for next year, though. It's really all I have at this point.
