This is a business, not a charity. You should measure the Sens based on their balance sheet, not how many playoff appearances they've made. The first priority of any franchise should be to establish financial stability. A well-run franchise will be respected by the fan base - that is what draws season ticket holders.

With our team as young as it is right now, I think that's a good strategy. If he continues that when Karlsson, Turris, Zibanejad, Cowen and Ceci are all in their primes, then there will be a problem.

Basically this. There's no urgent need to spend to the cap right now. It would be nice to add 2-3 mil to the budget to bring in a top 4 D, but we're not a contender either way.

It will be a problem, if we're still crying poor when the kids come off their entry deals and earn bigger paydays and we don't have the purse strings loosened for them. That's if that happens.
