Not even close, but I did read the last five pages of the GDT instead of three, and I'm buzzing on the goalies.

Blackwood top 5 in SV% with only a short time here is just fkn awesome.

Huge weight lifted off the team and the fans.

Cmac is making moves, we have the best goalie tandem in the league, more help coming from IR and only bottom of the roster holes to fill.

It's fkn go time, and we're all out of bubble gum.

Full transparency - my interest in the Avs has been waining year after year since the cup win and management's dumb ass decisions and that's led me to be on these boards less and less, hence the significant decrease in posts here. I believe their window has been closed since Kadri walked and, baring some unprecedented superhero shit from their stars, they'll be a mediocre 1st or 2nd round out for the next 5-8 years before they accept it's time to rebuild. I don't believe this core gets to another cup final.

And no, I still fully believe Blackwood is a bottom of the league starter and a lateral move to Georgiev on the ice. Why cMac panicked and gave him an extension (5 years!!!) so early is just another sign that he's lost as a GM. I get the locker room issues with Georgiev, and don't disagree they needed to get him out, but thinking Blackwood is the solution to competing is laughable.

But hey, the Avs have been notoriously good and protecting mid goalies and making them look good for stretches which causes optimistic fans, and lousy GMs, to overreact on them.

Your opinion of Blackwood reads like an eastern based fan who only saw him play for the Devils
