Both the goalie trades have the potential to look awful in the long run. Time will tell.

That being said they put themselves in a corner and had to make moves.

Pucks can get through the mask, albeit barely. Ben Bishop lost a tooth late in his career the same way.
Not sure if Blackwood's incident is on youtube but this one is

I've never worn a goalie mask but I'd have thought there was more separation between the face and the front of the mask. But then I suppose it would be closer down at the chin. Either way, yikes. Blackwood's missing a lot more teeth than just two as well, must have been some shot.

I think we had our goalie struck in the eye by a stick going through the mask. Ah found it!

I remember Georgiev’s 1st year with us. His rebound control was one of the best. Not sure what happened to the guy and why the sudden drop off

Congratulations Avs fans, glad to see Mackenzie got off to a good start for you. Kovalenko has been pretty good for us so far and Georgiev should be our ace in the hole for us to achieve our franchise goal of having a real high draft pick again.

Both teams XOXO trade

Ya'all got a cheap 3C laying around?

I love loving our goalies again.

I dunno about cheap, but we're likely to want to trade Granlund at the deadline cause he's expiring. I just dunno if Avs have the bullets to make a competitive offer for him at this point.

We have the assets, it's just will they pay it for a pure rental and full retention. They're reportedly looking for defensive help though. So if they pay a higher price it will probably be there.

I don't typically associate pirates with avalanches, no.

It's not as glamorous as the seven seas. Without the ship, they have to take the bus.

The one thing that impressed me the most in his first game with the Avs is how squared he always is to the puck. He was very calm and seems to be a good puck handler as well.

Also I was glad to hear Bednar saying the same thing I have said i the past: When all things being equal you go with the bigger goalie 100% of the time. As I said in the past a bigger goalie can at least cover a lot more of the net with his size and get lucky by just having the puck hit him when he is having a bad game.
