9/10 Indians surveyed either have no problem with the name Redskins or they like the name.
Does that matter?
They probably should've surveyed some aboriginal people, instead.

so tired of this pathetic semantic argument.
I remember reading something along these lines. However, I never saw the raw numbers so can't really comment on whether it was a really a valid study. I did play football in college with a guy who was Native American. I can not remember from which Tribe. He was from Western PA, and was a huge Redskins fan FWIW.9/10 Indians surveyed either have no problem with the name Redskins or they like the name.

No, because people would rather be offended.
It's unfortunate the .01%, consisting mostly of non-Native Americans, scream the loudest and feel entitled to declare that things are offensive to another race/ethnicity all the time.

I personally can understand the argument against the Skins (don't agree with it, but at least understand it). I don't see any logical reason at all against Blackhawks.

Good morning world,
What are we offended by today?
Would love to hear thoughts from the Indigenous members of this board and not ya know, this.
Well, thanks for asking - today it has been decided that "posse" is now offensive.
Please everyone mark that in your cultural offensive words notebooks and wait for tomorrow's word.

The problem is many of them will likely say they aren't offended. I'm korean, and and all of the Asian derogatory terms don't bother me. But that doesn't mean it should be ok to name a sports team the Kinks.

If I were the Blackhawks, I would just get the logo change out of the way so I could switch to this sweet-ass crest:

Wouldn't a Korean team have to use three names??The problem is many of them will likely say they aren't offended. I'm korean, and and all of the Asian derogatory terms don't bother me. But that doesn't mean it should be ok to name a sports team the Kinks.
That still has the traditional Native American painting look. Someone might get offended. Can't have that!
That's fine, would still rather hear those thoughts from them directly rather then the handful of people in this thread who'd rather make "lol triggered, everything is offensive, liberalzz" jokes and talk about how something that they have no say in is not offensive to them.
I'm also Asian and have massive problems with any slurs about my people so we're two sides of the coin here.![]()
Difference being... Blackhawks is not a derogatory name for Native-Americans, like Redskins, Indians, Savages, etc.

Nope since surveys like that mean zilch, and because the Redskins name is still a racial slur.
says you.![]()
Many people disagree with your opinion.
Actually it's a fact.
No, it's a ****ing opinion.
I don't care either way, but just because someone says something or someone is offensive, racists, etc. doesn't make it true.
