GDT: Blackhawks. Flyhairs. 3pm EST.

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

lol doesnt JJ do Phillies games some times and says they are getting close..they've gone out earlier each year lol

If they keep it up and lose this one, I think we can all exhale and just fairly assume that no late season push to ruin their lottery position is happening. You lose to the Blackhawks, I don't think there's any hope left.

Is Drysdale good now? When did that happen?

No. Flukey goal. A quick shot from point at TK/defender about 10 feet above crease and bounced off the wrist/forearm of defender and in.

His assist is a similar play off a draw quick shot from the point and TK got the deflection for the goal.

I brought this up a couple of times, but it's increasingly looking like the most immediate thing the Flyers are going to have to address is the goaltending. They absolutely cannot come back with both of these guys. Even if it's another tank year. It would be very rich that after having Peterson's contract expire, they're still going to have to have dead money should they manage to move Fedotov in a cap dump.

They're going to have to send Fedotov to the Phantoms. If he bails back to Russia, so be it.

He's not an NHL goaltender and he knows it.

Ersson/Kolosov isn't going to work as a tandem, either. Hopefully they don't spend Petersen money on a Petersen-caliber goalie.

I would have been happy with Vejmelka. Quite happy.

As would I have been with Askarov, but Briere blew it on that one.

I’m not a fan of punting the position, even in a rebuild but the FA class is piss poor.

Allen might be available. Andersen. I’ve always liked Gibson talent wise, but having to spend assets for another cripple… Swear he’s got some kind of NTC in his last deal.

If the Flyers think they can be negligent when it comes to goaltending, and have a hope in hell the next few years it will be cute to watch. Not nearly enough talent to cheapen out on the position.

I do think both would have a better sv% on a normal team...

None of the 3 goalies actually have even a .900 EXPECTED sv% in terms of public models... now, all 3 have been below expected, but still, Flyers D play in a way that suppresses shots but not scoring chances...

If Ersson had played at Vezina level ~+1.5 dfsv%? He would be at around .905... and would get zero Vezina votes because of the type of shots they allow.

I have also heard from a few sources that the backend data from non-public sources that some teams use says that actually the Flyers expected sv%s are even lower than public models.

They shouldn't have to spend a ton of money on any one they absolutely have to commit to. It would be different if they were playing higher in the standings. Whether it's taking a chance on someone that someone else is looking to move or just a free agent. Hell, they can bring back Alex Lyon and be reasonably confident you'll get a .900% goaltender, he's been better than that every season since he's left.
