Matthew Schaefer is literally exactly the player we need. Korchinski isn't. A bunch of later picks isn't.

I just feel like Korchinski is being under valued here . He just needs to be in the weight room for a couple years . He's a good kid and very talented . He still has a very good chance of being a top pairing guy . Schafer has over come a lot the last little while the same as Kevin has himself. Both kids are great skaters , Schafer is a notch above him though .

Why the Sharks do this : They get a great young Defenceman and lot's of picks to add to their depth
Blackhawks own their 1st , leaf's 1st , their 2nd rd , Dallas 2nd rd , their 3rd rd , their 4th ,Ny Ranger's 4th , , their 6th rd , their 7th rd

Why the Blackhawks do this : They have too many prospects at this point , getting very crowded , so Quality over Quantity. A one year pause on stock piling picks for Kyle D

how the hell is this thread open? The picks? The 2nd first rounder that the Hawks have could be 32nd overall--so 4 picks between 32 to 64? and other trash for the 1st overall pick.

I'm sure i'm missed more than a couple of SHARK prospects but like i said , You don't stack up to the BLACKHAWKS ! At Forward or Defence a huge gap in talent and depth .

After the year we had? No way we would give up the 1st overall. It's have to be a king's ransom and the Hawks have nothing of value (that they'd be willing to depart with).

I really like KK as a prospect and feel like he'll be a really good #2 or #3 .

He's just way too weak defensively to project as a top pairing dman, he's looking more like a 4/5 at this point. His skating really hasn't improved either, which is a bit of a concern IMO.

Schaefer looks like he'll be very good , but how much better than KK?

If they want to acquire the 1st overall without trading the 2nd overall, you'd probably have to offer up a package like:

Vlasic
Nazar
Toronto 1st
Chicago 2nd

Vlasic is already a top pairing .Nazar is very comparable (imo) to Smith and 2 pick besides ? I like Schaefer but he is nowhere near worth this package .

Yep. If you want the 1st overall pick you have to give up assets. Maybe you could swap him with Levshunov if you prefer to keep Vlasic.

No he's not. Smith finished with 30 points in his last 34 games, 4 more than Bedard in that stretch, and 4 more than Nazar had the entire season. And he's a year younger than Nazar.

Nazar is a great young player but projects more as a speedy 2 way 2C, not an elite scoring forward.

Smith is more comparable to Bedard than Nazar.

Yea Smith is generational now ?? Fine we disagree , I think Nazar is very comparable to Smith , much grittier though and better two way . Smith Nazar & Oilver Moore are all in the same zip code , Smith better hands but the softest , Moore the best skater , Nazar the grittiest .
