I want a Bratt-Hughes-Hall line this year...
While that'd be a ton of f***ing fun I'd prefer Hall with Nico-Timo and Noesen with Jack-Bratt
Am I missing something here?

Is Hall rumored to be brought back or something?

I just have to say, I want no part of a Hall reunion. His reputation for being a selfish player who puts himself ahead of the team is well earned.

Don't know about Hall being a Selfish player but....

How soon people forget the way he left the Devils and his actions/words.

He can stay in Chicago for all I care.

We are just fine without him.

That's why he sat that one game at the end of the season right?

I don’t ever really remember them posting Lindy post games as much even during the year we made the playoffs

You gotta wonder why that is

The Shift

Obviously the entire line did a great job controlling the zone for over a minute there.

What stands to me is Pesce making some pretty smart decisions to keep things moving.

The shift was dying out, but Luke's skating helped extend it which lead to what happens next.

You get some smart changes here. Would be super easy for everyone to just stay out there until they lost the zone. Someone correctly went off for Bratt while Luke was skating which allowed the shift to continue on.

Then obviously Bratt does what Bratt does, they continue changing, and Jack skates in and buries it with an excellent shot.

This is all really really good stuff.

Its up there with that crazy PK from the Rags game where everyone was blocking shots like crazy that you tape to the bulletin board and refer to all damn year

Longtime fans didn't forget how Hall left. I just think he could be an over-skilled 3rd liner to tip the scales for that line. And in a pinch you could put him up in top6 in a depth situation, injury.

Still don't know how we'd fit him in, I'm not in favor of jettisoning a lot of good chemistry on a team that is near top of the league. But getting Hall back is very intriguing...conceptually.

The reputation is overblown in my opinion. Personally, I think it more has to do with being a passionate guy who wears his heart on his sleeve.

I want no part in Hall because I’m not sure I see the fit. Personally, I think any addition we make should be to find an upgrade over Palat on Hughes and Bratt’s line. Hall would be a terrible fit there since he’s far too puck hungry and likewise he’d be another guy who would be a poor fit with Meier.

I might be talking myself into it cause I could see the appeal of the second and third lines being some combo of: Hall - Hischier - Mercer and Meier - Haula - Noesen. With Cotter - Lazar - Bastian that would be three heavy hard-working lines behind Hughes - Bratt.

re: Hall, I’ll trust whatever Nico says (and I’m sure Fitz will solicit input one way or another considering the guy was already here with some of the key players). Hell Fitz was here too, albeit not as the one calling the shots. If they think a reunion can work, what the hey - the dynamic is going to be different at this point in Hall’s career.

The Shift

This was one of the highlights of the season so far. The team attitude between this year and last are like night and day. Just a treat to watch it play out live.
I think without a short handed point? It might have been goals.

Either way it was indeed Gomer
It was without a point.

Hall was honest. He wanted to win and our team didn’t do it. I’m not bitter about how he left until he went to Boston, after which I hated him very much. But that trade tree will soothe all of the negative feelings I have about him and then some. In addition to Mercer and Bahl (who became Markstrom), that second round pick got traded to Washington for Siegenthaler.

Regardless, I don’t want him back unless Chicago retains full salary. $6 million for a third liner is a bit rich.

Noesen’s the upgrade over Palat. There’s no reason Meier can’t be on a line with another puck dominant guy. He was great with Bratt. My vision for the top 6 would be this

Bratt-Jack-Noesen
Hall-Nico-Meier

I think the only place he had that reputation was way back in Edmonton. I’ve never heard that since his stop there.

And even a lot of that was fake news. George Laraque erroneously reporting that Hall had an alcohol problem and that’s why he was forced out of Edmonton.

He came out a day or two later and apologized and said he got it wrong and received some bad information. I think that came out during the middle of the MVP season.

Yeah I think the main concern is chemistry actually.

Is Hall willing to put aside his ego for the better-ment of the team?

If so, I'll give him another shot. :dunno:

Whoa! Never saw this before :

I just now realized that they moved the PA announcer upstairs into the press area and out from ice level. I wonder how many years ago they did that? You don’t really notice it because it was in between the penalty boxes and the camera faces to the back of it.

I think most of the teams do have the PA announcer upstairs and not at ice level.

Somehow I chuckle the abrupt way the PA announcer says Bratt.

Jesper....BRATT!

Was there today, I got to the second intermission feeling utterly low; I have a half season ticket plan, haven't missed a game yet, and have been to *one* win so far this year because of how inconsistent they've been at the Rock, and being down one and *once again* being scoreless going into the third was enough to make me (un)comfortably numb.

But ho-LEEEEEEE that burst in the third, and THE SHIFT. Like a giant weight off the shoulders. I can't believe what a monster Bratt was and Jack's shot was just a work of art.

The frustration is that there have been soooooo many games I've been at this year where the team just sets things up so well, gets more high danger chances, limits the other team's shots, but I just keep showing up and seeing them lose because so many of those great set-ups just don't go in for one reason or another (Timo's been victimized SO often in that way). Helped that they were playing a Hawks team today that's clearly not ready for 60 minutes of prime time against the top teams in the league, but it was also just cathartic to watch things go so well for the third.

Also, Pesce with the game of a lifetime, my god.
