Svech on why the PP has gotten better: "Uh, I don't know, that's a good question actually. Seems like we've played the same, we've, uh tried to put the pucks more in the net."

That explains a lot honestly. Maybe Jeff forgot to tell them to put the pucks in the net.

Seems like everybody got it wrong. Daniels for leaving that part out, as well as everyone here. We were calling for Daniels head when we should have just suggested they put more pucks in the net (you know the players read this forum and take our advice!).

Who’s the bum they drafted with that first round pick we traded for Skjei?
indirectly, Braden Schneider (they used our pick to trade up a few more spots to take him). I haven't followed him there at all and have no idea if he's any good or not. On paper seems like a decent 3rd pair guy, which is basically a home run for them considering their recent drafting history

Maybe this is a hot take, but I'm not all that worried about KK. He's hot-and-cold offensively but he's stout enough defensively in the vast majority of cases to still be a positive impact player even if he isn't scoring.

Also, it's good to see Drury proving that he belongs in the league. We're loaded with defensively-responsible centers in the Staal vein and it's a luxury that Drury and KK can carry his torch when he finally decides to hang his skates.

How does moneypuck predict we had 2.62 expected goals? Didn't like all of our shots come either in the slot, on odd man rushes, or one timers? I don't think Shesterkin had a great game, but I don't think he let in any softies. We had a ton of scoring chances and mostly held the Rangers to the outside.

I thought KK had a great game. He did a lot of nice moves with the puck and was playing really physical and in your face on D.

KK is our 2C and has 1G, 0A and is -5 in 16 games since December started. We already have a "plays great defense" center that doesn't score much in Staal. I get that he's streaky, but that's just terrible production for his salary and position.

On the plus side, the team is winning in spite of that and hopefully he'll go on a bit of a hot streak at a time when others cool off and the team needs it, but there's no denying how poorly he's producing right now.

As far as Drury and KK being able to carry the torch once Staal hangs them up, it's possible but we need to see them doing it against top competition before assuming they can carry the torch.

And he still has more goals than Svech, and as many as Necas.

He's fine. He's 23, he's on a good contract, he's well suited to Rod's style of play, and the team is finding its stride.

This argument is boring, and it's especially boring after blowing out the best team in the league in their own barn.

I'm more concerned about kK than you. I watched him closely last night. He was very quiet on offense and seemed gassed a bit. short shifts and not alot of jump with his skating. I wonder if he's banged up a bit. He started the season on fire which suggested to me that he was in shape. Not sure why he is so invisible right now.

I don't think his current production warrants 2nd line role. Necas is on his own right now, with KK being a non factor on offense. Maybe slot Drury up for a few games. See how KK does against lesser competition.

KK was good enough to warrant almost 17 minutes last night, which is more than the last few games. Drury only got 11. Rod plays them both what they have earned that game

Let’s hope drury maintains this 12.5% shooting percentage (19% since December 1st)

C'mon Hank. You are really comparing him to Svech, who has played 15 less games and 8 more points? And I think we all agree Necas has struggled this year.

Huh? When players have 1 point in 16 games, it's a worthy discussion. It's not an "argument". I wasn't the one who brought up KK in the first place, just responding to a couple of other comments about him.

I didn't see you complaining about it when we were all singing his praises when he was hot to start the season. That's what we do here, discuss players both during ups and downs.
