He's been saying this for a while. Not really new.

I'm not even sure if Bishop does get moved. It's a difficult deal to do. TB might be better just letting him walk, rather than taking a poor return and losing him for the playoffs.

didn't we already know this?

Season is already close to starting and he is still around, so ofcourse he will start season with TBay.

If he isn't moved this year, ill be completely flabbergasted

Ya we know. Dallas will be the winner.

Honestly, its a hard trade to envision happening between Dallas and Tampa

Just bad trade partners.

Tampa cant take back one of the goalies because they dont have the cap space as is to retain Bishop and with all the extensions they have been handing out and still with guys like Kucherov waiting, as well as Drouin and T.Johnson coming up too, there is no space

Also, Nichushkin could have been a major trade piece available, now that is off the table. Who is Dallas going to be offer? One of their good D prospects? They clearly need those for this year AND in the long run.

Yzerman is going to ask for a very high price for Bishop, I am not sure Dallas has the assets to acquire him without overpaying, especially if you stay consistent with the notion that Tampa has no room to take on bad salary back (Niemi, Lehtonen) beyond this year.

I would imagine getting Bishop would cost someone like Honka or Lindell but yikes, looking at Dallas' blue line in the coming years, I am not sure they can afford to part with either

I'm not so sure they should let him walk. If they can get a return that will help them in the near future, I'd say they should. You aren't likely to get full value for bishop and it is a gamble but Vasilevski is a talented goalie. It's not like their window is closing and who knows, maybe a key piece gets injured and then they have a hole to fill.

Only is Vas shows he can carry the load

Looked good in the playoffs. That wasn't the reason Tampa lost.
Tampa will probably split more goaltending starts this year.
Get a good look at Vas and keep Bishop healthy.

If Chayka can get the green light from ownership, Arizona should buyout Mike Smith and trade for Bishop and extend him.

That would be another big step in the right direction for the rebuild for the Coyotes and they probably have the assets to part with to get him out of Tampa. Yzerman and the Coyotes have done deals before too

Until Vasy proves otherwise, he's still a step down from Bishop. If we're talking about a draft pick in return for Bishop, that's just not enough to risk downgrading our goaltending for the rest of the season.

I don't think there's any argument that Bishop has been the team's MVP for the majority of his time here.

Could possibly see Bishop being a Trade Deadline Deal.

It's possible, but could you really see the Lightning, who see themselves as contenders, trading him to another contender, likely shoring up a key weakness of the team? That's a situation where the Lightning would really need an overpayment.

I would certainly love to see Bishop in a Stars uniform but a ) i'm not sure Nill is comfortable with the asking price Yzerman has for an upcoming UFA b) We need to find a new home for at the very least one of the Finns since i doubt Tampa takes one back without us paying them even more c) I don't know comfortable Nill is with the 7Million for 7 Years Bishop apparently wants . Need to get him to take less years somehow . Goalies more often than not fall off a cliff in their early to mid 30's and 7 years for a 30 year old would be incredibly risky.
