The rest of our schedule is filled of like.. 90% good teams.

Hardly any dud games on paper remaining.

Other than Arizona and Washington the rest are good teams, or teams that play us good (Buffalo, Habs)
Might not be a bad thing considering how leafs usually play against shit teams.

Before the game I said wanted this game BAD and didn't know why and that wasn't true, I knew EXACTLY why, because with a win they sweep the road trip.

They delivered, they won, they swept the road trip, it wasn't necessarily pretty but they swept trip.

What's even more impressive is they did it WITHOUT a goal from Auston Matthews.

Tonight we got the Bertuzzi I thought we were getting in July when we signed him, more of that please and thank you.

I've defended Bertuzzi all season. It is not easy dragging Tavares around with you. Both him and Nylander would have way more points this season if they'd have been playing with Kampf instead of Tavares.

What’s even more surprising then putting JT on the 3rd line is that he didn’t panic and change up the lines after we were losing
i said it last summer than toronto had to nylander with domi. Both nylander and domi strenght was on counter-attack by using their speed. Thats where they are able to make the most damage.

Tavares is more dump and chase kind of game. Playing hard on forechecking, winning 1v1 battle, keep thing simple and rushing the net, deflet puck... Its like nylander weakness

nylander and jt just dont play the game the same way and its hard tonfind a stretegy to get best of both together on the same line

What I didn’t realize is with 2 games against Boston, we control our destiny now. Winning in regulation x2 nd winning the game in hand will tie us in points and RW, and we would lead in ROW
I'm not sure Toronto will pass Florida, but you never know. I think the likely outcome is a Toronto/Boston first round with the Leafs having home ice. That is a dream match-up considering what Boston is at this point.

Excluding the 9 minutes played by Steeves one night, all 22 other players are above a 50% goal differential 5v5 during this winning streak and Kampf has now gone 7 games straight without being on the ice for a 5v5 goal against while having the lowest Ozone starts on the team (28%)

Games like this are usually a loss. End of a long road trip against the Avs and 3rd game in 4 nights?

The team is galvanized and ready since the Rielly incident and I love the fact the Avs gambling on Matthews left Bertuzzi all alone not once but twice. Cant miss those and I hope Bertuzzi has finally shaken off what seems like a couple months of blowing grade A chances. Well deserved hat trick after being snakebit forever. His underlying numbers have been good all season, and now comes the finish.

Guys have certainly stepped up and filled a lot of holes in the process. We looked to be a few pieces away from being a serious team and that number is a lot more manageable with guys playing well and as a team.
1 RHD and 1 LW and we should be fine.

Great win, gutted it out. Good to see Bert score the hatty. Sammy held strong.

I’m gonna mosey over to the Marner hate thread and see what’s new there.

GLG!
