Proposal: Binnington for Skinner+

Yup
Watched 3 Oiler games since the break.
Their defence is atrocious. Nurse somehow makes 9.25 per season.
As much as Bouchard puts pts on the board his defensive play is crap and at times lazy

I think Bouchard's limitation is probably mental. Gifted physically, at least offensively, but doesn't seem to process information well enough.

He doesn't strike me as the brightest bulb anyway.

This is the worst stretch of hockey the Oilers have played in years. I'm not sure what the issue is, but they played much better before the 4 Nations break. Goaltending has been awful all season though.

That said, I can't see St. Louis trading Binnington now. They're in the thick of the wild card race, it doesn't make sense for them to sell.

And let me guess, we should ignore stats and look instead at looks. Or maybe some of the "hockey analitics" which are highly valued only by people who do not understand.
Save percentage isn't really a great stat. There are too many other factors that play into it. You need the "looks" and other stats to really unpack what is going on. An unremarkable goalie can have a wonderful save percentage if his team suppresses quality chances against, and very good goalies can have bad save percentages if they face a high number of quality scoring chances. High save percentages on awful teams are usually a sign of something. Low save percentages on good teams are usually a sign of something as well. Two goalies with similar save percentages, when one is on a team that's biggest statistical issue has been goaltending, tells you something else.

The prospects here are worthless to the Blues, and so are both Skinners...so we give up a top 10 goalie in the league for a late 1st round pick in a poor draft year? This is an EA Sports franchise mode trade, not a real life trade.

Blues surprised me this season to this point. 1 point out the wildcard, mind you with two more games played, but they're not far away. If I'm the Blues I'm looking at adding.

Skinner is an actual joke and the oilers don't have much in the cupboards to make it remotely interesting.
