I was skeptical of Disaster Artist too but I ended up liking it a lot. I thought it might be just Franco and his buddies making fun of the movie/Wiseau but it actually comes from a place of affection. And the recreations are stunningly accurate and hilarious.

You know, I forgot how unintentionally funny Episode 6 was.

I forgot how truly awful Harrison Ford's acting was in that movie, those facial expressions are on the level of Winona Ryder during that acceptance speech for Stranger Things last year.

No surgery as of right now thank god. Turns out I've got a 6th lumbar vertebrae as well. There's too much scar tissue complicating things at the moment. Haven't lost the strength in my right leg yet either so my surgeon is holding out hope. Have to start the steroid injections here soon but if that fails then we have to start looking at more aggressive options.

The silver lining is that from the last time I saw him I'm down 17lbs. Told me I was 249 a year ago and I'm down to 232. Pretty good for not really working out. Diet is a massive factor and not eating out is honestly the biggest reason as to why. I don't drink alcohol (for more reasons than one) and I use cannabis instead. It's not just a "drug" but f***ing medicine.

Great news mate. Keep doing what you have control of and hope the doctors can help with the rest.

Apropos of nothing, but Tommy Hearns vs. Roberto Duran is the only fight I've ever seen that gave me a sympathy concussion by watching it.

VrhB5dR.gif

That match-up was hilarious to begin with, Hearns had like almost a foot more of a reach than Duran, Duran could never get in close enough to do any damage and Hearns knew that, picked his ass apart for that short match. Back when I was boxing (amateur), I remember seeing that fight for some of the videos our coach used to show us, for people that used to say "Well reach doesn't matter if you get in close" and he was like, well here's what happens when you can't get in close...you get destroyed.

Hearns was a monster. At 25yrs old, he was 38-1 for his pro record at the time of that Duran fight.

I'd rather have a thousand Harrison Fords hamming it up in Star Wars than Hayden Christensen acting like his magical space knight teen dream is Hamlet.

I think HC gets a bad rap, there's literally no actor good enough to make that script better than it was. That character was written so poorly for someone so f***ing iconic in the Star Wars lore. It's why I pan the entire three altogether, I saw it in the theatres and never again. I will never watch either of those 3 movies because literally every bit of it is the dumbest shit I have ever seen on the movie screen for something that was ambitiously trying to add upon a beloved franchise already.

Higher ground means something.
Unless you're a Sith, then you get ripped in half.
Creepy dialogue all throughout.
So many f***ing moronic contradictory events and dialogue literally all throughout Episode 1-3.

I am all for RJ making a fresh new franchise, as long as he completely abandons anything and everything to do with the first 9 so far. Depends on what they introduce in Episode 10 next year as a jump off for the new franchise.

I am looking forward to the movie this weekend though.

Where does this movie fit in the series?

I’m not up to date on my Star Wars. I saw the Force Awakens it’s stars wars and it’s good but it was an average movie.

Haven’t seen Rouge One. That’s between Ep 3 & 4 yeah?

Yeah, R1 is between 3 and 4, like the final scene leads directly in to 4.

The movie coming out tomorrow is the follow-up to Force Awakens. So episode 8. Then Han Solo next year. Then Episode 9 the following year.

Han Solo is one that I don't like the idea of from the start, and then the director issues make me even more worried about it. Donald Glover is the one thing that has me hopeful. I just love that guy.

After all of that, I believe a Kenobi stand-alone is the year after episode 9. And then a new trilogy after that. But it's supposedly not related to the Skywalkers at all. I hope it's something completely new.

I kinda don’t like when they just keep pumping them out. Usually loses something in quality or impacts on viewer enjoyment because of volume. I understand why since so much money is involved.

Like the superhero movies just hit us like a tsunami. So many!

I absolutely love it. Between Marvel and Star Wars, this is my movie heaven. Marvel is getting more creative with differentiating their movies in terms of genre blending as they go along. That is something I hope Star Wars does, at least with the stand-alone movies in between the main trilogy movies. And I'm happy they are moving away from the Skywalkers for the next trilogy.

All of this with a bunch of other good movies like Logan Lucky, Dunkirk, The Big Sick, Get Out, Baby Driver, Blade Runner, Lady Bird, Three Billboards, IT, etc. I hear people complain that all we get are franchise movies and reboots anymore, but movies aren't a zero-sum game. We haven't lost the other good movies because of the blockbuster comic book movies. There are just as many great movies coming out these days as ever imo. But the blockbusters that do come out have largely shifted to my favorite franchises, which is awesome for me

And yes, I'm a huge nerd.

So I have bronchitis and the meds I was given, the doctor did not tell me the side effects of stomach pain and the runs was a thing, it is a thing. It's not fun. I am sick of making poop soup.
