My wife just realized the Avs have been doing the Big Hat thing this season. She was laughing so hard and trying to tell me on how many levels it is so perfect and then stopped cold and said, "Who came up with this idea?" I just smiled and she said, "Damn, he's helping the team so much even while injured."

I think she's finally getting my fanatical love for the game, the Avs and one Swedish viking in particular.

That is a fun nickname.

And appropriate for the player i thought we were getting and the one he's become since FINALLY getting switched to wing.

Parker just looks so much more comfortable (as well as efffective) playing wing.

I know he cashed in pretty well the last two seasons, but he really never belonged anywhere but in that room.

Since the night he was traded for, way back in 2010, he has done nothing but live and breathe bugundy and blue.

Knowing now how Landy's injury played out... I'm half regretting the Avs not finding a way to keep EJ here and pin the C on his chest while Landy was rehabilitating.

that looked crazy to me at the time it happened. But the big fella just popped up and skated off like nothing happend, so I never bothered to rewind and rewatch.

Does anyone have a clip of that hit?

Maybe not the greatest defenseman ever but I like that he stands up for his teammates.
