I actually expected Fleury to lead his team in scoring much more than Marchand. But they both lead their teams in scoring quite a bit with similar gaps over their teammates.
Fleury did not have a lot of help especially in those later years, so who knows how his production would look with similar linemates to Marchand... but then Marchand at times had a humongous point gap over one of Pastrnak and Bergeron, both of whom were better players than the forwards on Fleury's team. (For example, I'd say a 20 point lead over Pastrnak is more impressive than a 29 point lead over Stillman..)
And despite Marchand having the stronger supporting cast throughout their careers playing with Bergeron and Pastrnak, his hart record is still slightly better than Theo's.
But I think the decisive point in Marchand's favour is two way play. Idk what was up with Fleury's 5th place Selke finish, but he never got any votes for the award again
All in all, great poll and as close as 2 players can get. I'm leaning Marchand ever so slightly, but could be convinced otherwise.
