People forget Samsonov was widely considered a top 5 goalie prospect before he came up. He showed glimpses with the Caps but his maturity was the big question mark/let down. I still worry about him long-term because I've seen him have good stretches like this before but I'll still give him my vote. He has more upside IMO.

The only thing Georgiev has going for him is the Avs defense. I'll pretty much take everyone over him in any poll ever. He won his cup today against the Rangers but the Avs won't win a damn thing if he's the starting goalie.
Literally just won the cup with a half blind Kuemper and swept the Oilers with our backup. If they lose this year it won't be because of Georgiev.

I mean we won a cup with the worst goaltending stats in like 30 years. We could easily win with Georgie assuming we fix our 2C hole.

Playoff success will be a big part of their legacy. And the Avs will always be more successful come playoff time than the leafs.

I legitimately have no idea but I'll take my team's guy in a toss up. I really thought Georgiev was wildly overrated as a Ranger but he's looked pretty solid in Colorado.

Samsonov was given more chances than he earned in Washington. It's a well-run organization that gave him all the right support, and he pooped his pants at the worst possible moments in addition to generally sub-par performance. Maybe getting dumped by the Caps was the wake-up call he needed. Then again, there were several wake-up calls prior to that.

Confidence should be low.

I will give that if there's any team that can carry that scrub to a SC win is the Avs. He is also a slightly less shitty goalie when he plays more games. Still shitty though.

He’s been pretty dang good so get here :dunno:

Hasn't he only played 6 games? He plays better with a bigger load so better team and more games he'll probably be better than he was with the Rangers but he still is a below average starter. Granted you're right you guys don't need an average starter.

It's early and things will surely improve but so far the Avs haven't exactly been great defensively. Georgiev on the other hand has been pretty strong in this young season.

Just like the Leafs, just change the defensive aspect to not working hard. Sammy has been pretty damn good.

Samsonov reminds me a lot of Jack Campbell in the sense that he has the talent to be a #1 goalie, but lacks the stamina. He will fizzle out as the season goes.

Voted Georgie for that reason

Only thing of note for me is that Samsonov is only 25. I feel like he's been around forever lol.

They both suck, but maybe Sammy can blossom if he gets a decent goalie coach?

I'm still amazed Colorado gave up assets for Georgiev.

4-0-1 with better numbers than Shesterkin so far this year. Yeah, Georgiev sucks! At least he doesn’t have to play behind that shit defense they have in NY!
