It seemed a forgone conclusion he would end up in Detroit again but with the Larkin trade request have to think that pretty much kills that as he doesn't want to be on a rebuilding team.

He can still produce as he put up a 70 point pace this season but as he has gotten older he is missing chunks of time here and there.

Before he signed in Detroit it was rumored the Panthers went after him hard but he turned it down because his dad couldn't attend the games as he is deathly afraid of flying...wonder if they might still be interested.

Ducks to be reunited with Coach Q?

Did he spend any time playing with Larkin? If not 5v5 then maybe on the PP?

Minnesota trading for Larkin and signing Kane could be interesting. Put them together with Boldy and then put Kaprizov with Eriksson Ek and some RW.

If Debrincat stays in Detroit so will Kane. If Cat is moved I expect Kane to follow. They are best friends and their young families are pretty connected from my understanding.

That is possible, Kane did say before he wanted to be a career Blackhawk even when it was clear they wouldn't be contending anytime soon there.

But he only has a year or two left probably I wonder if his mindset has changed at all and he really wants one last chance to compete.

Playing with Matthews so he can try and win 1 more cup before he retires

Retirement. Either this coming season or the next will be the year of, "Ooh, he played one year too long."

Detroit is going nowhere soon, Kane has nothing left to prove, and the balance between 'productive on the power play' and 'running out of gas everywhere else' is shifting very close to bad territory.

I think Kane feels the best spot for him is wherever his kid can play with Debrincat's kid...

So yeah... If Debrincat stays in Detroit I expect Kane will stay. Alex could get traded though. We'll see.

I think he'll sign a bonus heavy contract with a supposed contender like Dallas/Minny after spending years of not making the playoffs.

If Robertson is out in Dallas they're gonna look for someone to bring in, and Johansson already retired from the NHL for Minny.

He's probably a better option short-term for these teams than splurging the money in free agency for a guy who is likely going to produce less.

I could see it. Catch is, he does it in Detroit after the Wings make a big push for Matthews to replace Larkin when they move him.

Realistically though, i'd imagine Kane just sticks around with Detroit, so long as DeBrincat stays.

Hey, I know a team where that would absolutely not be a problem....
