It has to be Draisaitl no? Multiple times voted the best passer by his peers in those NHLPA polls, plus multiple time 50 goal scorer
I agree. He has a combination of elite passing and shooting that few in the sport have ever possessed. It has to be Draisaitl no? Multiple times voted the best passer by his peers in those NHLPA polls, plus multiple time 50 goal scorer
Just stop man. Im getting 2nd hand embarrasement.10000000% those are very difficult high skill shots. It doesnt magically make them a "snipe" though. The 2nd one was the only one that was close, but Id still not consider it a "snipe".
Not at all. he has a wide open net. I personally could score those goals easier than a breakaway. It made no sense to most, but to me they were easier. Still not a "snipe". Having a wide open net/a goalie to ricochet off of surprisingly made those a very high % shot for me.
They definitely could be, but 95%+ of snipes are bar down top corners. Find any player that played NCAA/Junior+ disagree with me.
I get it. You're an armchair fan. Some of us have actually played the sport at a high level. Every single NHL player would agree with me.Just stop man. Im getting 2nd hand embarrasement.
Yea in terms of being a pure shooter/sniper + being a playmaker it has to be Lemieux all time.Is this recent players or all time? All time and it’s Gretzky (92g - 120 a) and Lemieux (85g - 114 a). That’s their best years, other years we’re also insane
dear lord.I get it. You're an armchair fan. Some of us have actually played the sport at a high level. Every single NHL player would agree with me.
Honestly, everything makes sense now. Because of your supreme acuity for this sport, I will never argue with you again.I get it. You're an armchair fan. Some of us have actually played the sport at a high level. Every single NHL player would agree with me.
I didn’t see that at all. Jesus is right. LolJesus this thread is a decade old.
I thought I was going nuts when I saw Semin and Malkin mentioned on the first page.
I can actually vouch for the poster Benfranklin being a a good hockey player and the outright authority of who is and is not a sniper.Just stop man. Im getting 2nd hand embarrasement.
Its ok to admit when youre wrong. You want your guy to get every pump up possible and Draisaitl simply isnt a sniper. Hes an amazing finisher and playmaker.Honestly, everything makes sense now. Because of your supreme acuity for this sport, I will never argue with you again.
And I bet you could throw a ball over them mountains too.I get it. You're an armchair fan. Some of us have actually played the sport at a high level. Every single NHL player would agree with me.

Tell me how that isn't a "snipe." The definition of a sniper is being able to pick spots and beat goalies cleanly. You don't score 50 goals in this league routinely without that ability, and this is just one example.
Draisaitl has not scored all 387 of his goals in this league off of one-timers into open nets.
Your hate for everything Oilers is all-encompassing, and that bias in all your posts has left you with zero credibility.
Nobody cares who or where you played hockey if you can't objectively give an opinion without those opinions dripping with cognitive dissonance.
But unfortunately, you don't. you provide personal opinions based on your definitions of a said topic that are tainted with bias. That is not logic and data. That is the first example posted so far that is considered a "snipe". Every single player who has ever played in the NHL is capable of sniping. Certain players do it drastically more often than others and are thus considered "snipers".
I never said Draisaitl doesnt have the accuracy in his toolbox, but he rarely "snipes". Of his 387, I bet under 10 total are snipes. And that isnt a bad thing at all. If anything I applaud him for shooting high % shots vs aiming top cheese like other guys missing more often than not.
You can hate my posts, but I provide logic and data usually to back my theories. You can even disagree with my definition of a snipe and argue that simply scoring any goal is a sniper, but real hockey players will disagree with you.
How I know you never played hockey… no actual hockey player talks like that. That is the first example posted so far that is considered a "snipe". Not true at all. I absolutely love McDavid and am going to be a huge fan of him on his next team. I think J Skinner is garbage and I think Draisaitl benefits greatly from McDavid and would struggle hard if he was the big boy on Utah or whatever random team where he is the true #1.But unfortunately, you don't. you provide personal opinions based on your definitions of a said topic that are tainted with bias. That is not logic and data.
Your posting history is that of a "hater". I don't like using that term but it is an apt one when dealing with any posts from you that involve the Oilers.
And you need to stop with this "real hockey players will disagree with you" garbage. The no true Scotsman argument is a tired one that has no relevance to this discussion.
The simple fact is you do not like the Oilers or their players, which is totally fine, everyone on these boards are fans of a particular team or teams which in turn means they will have teams they dislike, but passing off personal opinions based on those biases is not fine, and completely damages credibility.
