If we're talking about their play as a Senator, I'd go with Steve Duchesne, who I believe never signed a contract here.

Duchene easily for guys who actually played for us. Marty St. Louis easily if you count guys who were invited to camp but were deemed unworthy of a contract.

I'll go with Phaneuf because he was pretty solid for us during that 2017 run, and scored a huge OT winner against Boston. He seemed to have a good impact on the locker room too, unlike Duchene.

The locked on sens podcast did a show a little while back about the one thing you would change looking backwards that would have the biggest impact.

No idea how "sign Marty" didn't make their list.

I wonder what could've been if Spezza and Hemmer both stayed. Probably would've been another 60-65pt season from Spezza and 40-50 from Hemsky but each of those points would be highlight reel plays

I gave the 60 and 40 point predictions as conservative and assumed that Spezza and Hemsky would maintain their production, but with an emerging EK I wonder if we could've challenged for the division. Then again, we did have a surprising bounce-back season in 2015 that I didn't expect at all.
