Is it bad when since there were so many bad drafts that it's hard to choose the worst?

I'm leaning towards 1999. 1996, 1997, 2003, 2015 and 2016 were bad too.
2003 will always be the worst for me. If you blindfolded yourself and threw a dart in the first round, you probably had an 80% chance to take someone who would at least turn out to be an NHL player.

1999 hurt because we had 2 picks in the first round but it was a really crappy draft year (not the first or last time we would have multiple first rounders in ho hum draft years).

2004 wasn't too bad, but looking back on it we had six - count 'em SIX chances to take David Kreijci :help:
True that, but many teams had 6, count em' 6 chances to choose Henrik.
On another note, I were available to be drafted, I don't believe I wound WANT to be drafted by the Rangers, because it's kind of well known that we don't know how to develop anybody. Anyone who has succeeded through our affiliates, it's only because they weren't going to be denied, no matter what.

Darren Turcotte wasn't a bad pick that year.
I liked Turcotte a whole lot. Seemed we should have stayed with him. We traded him to the BlackHawks......correct? Reminded me of Walter Tkaczuk (for whatever reason) and thought he could be that 2/3rd liner that would give you 20 per. and hustle his ass off every shift.

Traded him in 93-94 to Hartford for Kypreos and Larmer.
