The bolded should highlight just how special that run was for Geno. Imagine his point totals that run if he had a 100+ point guy on his line.
If Geno had the king of linemates most of these names have had that are being thrown out in this thread, he would have set a playoff mark no one currently playing would touch. Simple as that.

it doesn't really actually belong on a top list since it was only 2 rounds but I just want to give a shoutout to Datsyuk's 2011 run since nobody else will

he was everywhere and had almost as many points as the Wings #2 and #3 scorers that Playoffs combined

Easy one for me.

Peter Forsberg having his spleen removed in 2001, missing the entire regular season of 2001-02, then returning for the playoffs and scoring 27 points in 20 games to lead all playoff scorers despite not even making it to the SCF.
Came to post this also.

Crosby 2008. 27 points in 20 gp at 20 years old to become the youngest ever to lead the playoffs in scoring.
How about Makar scoring 29 points in 20 games. Unbelievable as a defenseman, but probably still to recent to cement a place in history.

But Crosby was amazing during that run in '08.

Halak in 2010.

Cammalleri had 13 goals in 19 playoff games that year and I feel like that flies under the radar.

He lead the playoffs in goals that year and im pretty sure he broke some significant guy lafleur record too.

This is also the most goals by anyone post 2000 without getting to the final.

Giguere's 2003 run is the clear #1 for me. The Ducks had no business getting to Game 7 of the SCF, let alone even winning a game in the first round. Giguere was superhuman that year, and completely deserved the Conn Smythe. That was an incredible playoff year for upsets in general, but Giguere single-handedly dragged the Ducks to the Final.

I actually didn’t realize the numbers Quick put in that 2012 run….holy phuc
Quick doesn't get enough credit for that 2012 run because the Kings just steamrolled their way to the cup - opened all games on the road too ( took a 3-0 lead in every series) , 4-1 (President Trophy Vancouver), 4-0 ( Central winner and 2nd best record St Louis) , 4-1 ( Pacific winner Arizona - defeated SC champs Chicago in 1st round) , and 4-2 (New Jersey - also a Cinderella team), but the reason for that was because of Quick.

Sorry

Thomas in 2011 was a sight to behold. We will never see a goalie play with that kind of fire ever again. Maybe Binnington came close.

Malkin in 2009 is the best post lockout still, imo.

Not Voting McDavid as the best individual playoff performance and perhaps the best of all time here is just
If Geno had the king of linemates most of these names have had that are being thrown out in this thread, he would have set a playoff mark no one currently playing would touch. Simple as that.
McDavids playoff run made Geno look pedestrian.

Let's be real here and stop blowing smoke.
