The difference is that EK until this past season has never been defined as the absolute best Dman in the league in Norris voting, Crosby had been and was still a top scoring player along with all of the attributes he brought to his game.

Some diehard EK fans will try to pump him up but that's all it is.

He won his first Norris in 2012, second in 2015 and finished 2nd in 2016 and 2017. That pretty much mirrors crosbys play in many ways. I’m not saying he’s THE best defenseman because of his play in his own end but your standards are all over the place.

You literally said he wasn’t considered the best defenseman, yet many here will tell you that 2 Norris trophies with 2 runner ups is a pretty damn good argument, same idea as Crosby being runner up in 2015-2017.

I never claimed he was better than Crosby or had his resume.

You literally did this in the post I was referring to in terms of Karlsson on 2 occasions saying "(same as Crosby)" but okay whatever. It really doesn't matter as the pill results speak for themselves here as does the historical record.

The “same as Crosby” was referencing EKs consistency being one of the top defensemen, while still being considered the best one years prior, not him being better.

Sure EK had a great playoffs but still.

I posted this in the wrong thread. Thought this was the one were Kane swept the trophies and Karlsson had 84 points.

Karlsson actually won the Norris trophy in 2014-15 with 66 points this season. That was his assist total the following year (the one I was originally talking about)

Funnily enough I think Doughty should have won this year and Karlsson the next.
