After recent events on this Board... some would call it bickering... I would call it dialogue for what its worth...

It's great to see HFJets enjoy themselves... have fun and revel a bit...

The Jets have great fans (not perfect)... but great fans...

Enjoy HFJets... our Jets are for real...

Until the playoffs... :sarcasm:

Nahhh... just enjoy it... it's real...

I finally made it home after waiting almost thirty minutes trying to get out of the Convention Centre parking garage. Congratulations to Eric Comrie for the shutout, it was well deserved as he made some awesome saves. El Nino had another great game, he was busy at both ends of the ice. My only complaint, other than the guy two seats down from me yelling at the top of his lungs all night, was the fact that the Jets need someone who can consistently win faceoffs. I kept looking at the scoreboard and it was ranging around 30-40% faceoff wins for Winnipeg tonight. They need to improve on that, as I certainly think they miss Adam Lowry in that role. Despite that, I give the game five "55's" out of 5...

The Prediction Contest for the game against the Long Island Iced Teas has been posted for your guesses. A big shout out to @SUX2BU who will be making the next GDT! We are looking forward to it! It's way past my bedtime, but I will see you all on Friday! Good night...

Statement game. Everyone clicking

Jets usually fall apart on their East Division stretch... instead they are picking up steam

Fourth line really solid - and out there to protect the shutout

Kupari looking like Lowry heir apparent

Perfetti playing like a man possessed

Top line did get shut down by Canes.. but then Scheif entered beast mode

Jets standing up teams at their blue line - LA style

Everyone backchecking - Ehlers with some real nice defensive plays

Stan making heads up plays - mostly haha - lets please just stick with Stan-Miller

3-0 with backup goalie and missing our shutdown center...
I mean 4th line only played like 6 min 5v5 but yeah. Was at the game, and the amount of meat laps Ford took was comical, lol. Every tv timeout.

Good win, but Carolina fully sleepwalking through that game, that is not their best by a mile

I have always had an affinity for David Gustafson. Felt that he would be am unsung strength, fly under the radar, but an important depth piece for mostly intangibles.

I know, small sample size, yada, yada....but fun facts:

Even strength Points per 60 minutes played, Gus Bus is at 1.495.

At even strength, this P/60 is better than:

Josh Morrisey
Shane Pinto
Mika Zibanejad
Tyler Bertuzzi
Patrick Kane
Kevin Fiala
Erik Karlson
Patrik Laine
Lane Hutson
Roman Josi
Chris Kreider
Conor Geekie
Miro Heiskanen

And about 1000 others. Fun stuff :)

thought the Jets played v well last night. Canes didn't really play with their customary tenaciousness in my view, not sure if it was moreso that they were off, or the Jets stifled them (i was in and out of this one).

glad to see comrie pick up another W. there was recent talks in the trade thread about getting another goalie...comrie sv% stats are solid. if he wasn't often subjected to b2bs where the team in front of him is off, his W/L record would look way better.

I'd f***ing laugh my ass off if the Jets go on another 15-1 tear... just to hear what the "well, if you eliminate their 15-1 stretch of hockey, they aren't all that good" crowd would say lol

the 7 game win streak is great. but whats more important to me is how were getting there. we arent relying on luck and pdo and goaltending. hell, the OT win the other night shouldnt have been anywhere near OT. its the compete and work ethic that has my ears perked up lately.

oh lord. can you not just enjoy the winning and the way the team plays? do you still have to try and manufacture dissent and animus on the board even now?

get a life

ME manufacture dissent?

Yikes

I ALWAYS enjoy Jets hockey, even when they play like dogshit and lose

Why don't YOU try not manufacturing dissent and animus when they go 4-7-3 over a stretch?

I don't think he's doing that, i think he's just pointing out that some on here just keep waiting to say see i knew the Jets weren't that good if we lose a couple of games. :dunno:Like saying that wasn't Carolina's best game by a mile, maybe that is their best game against this team. I know you didn't say that bye the way but another poster just did.

Getting annoyed when we play like dog shit and vocalizing it is normal. Derailing a thread, like you've done here, when things are going well, is unhinged.

Thanks...

What you said 100%

Plus... at what point are people going to just admit that the Jets are a good team? We've heard everything to dismiss that idea...

1. Helle props them up
- Jets have scored the most goals in the NHL this year

2. They only score the most goals because of the power play, which is relying on an unsustainable shooting percentage
- Jets sit 7th at 5v5 goals for, and sit 9th at 5v5 SH% (which is sustainable)

I'm sure I'm missing something... but this is just a well constructed, deep team that has bought into the coach's style of play and has had tremendous success dating back.tonthe start of last season (with a few bad stretches, which every team has)

Things are always going well, my friend. Even in a tough patch... we have a great team

I'm perfectly hinged. If you want to see UNhinged, check out you and your buddies in PGTs after losses

I'm not your friend, fella, and, yes, seeking to create conflict and troll in a 7 game win streak is the behaviour of a socially maladjusted dick.

Obviously live is different than watching on TV, but I've seen the Canes play way better than that this year. However, the Jets were pretty good at pressuring the puck all game and not giving them any really good looks.

Going to be a tough call for Chevy at the deadline. The team is really clicking and playing for each other. Do you want to bring in a big piece and potentially disrupt that? Id prefer just solid depth pieces that can step in if needed at this point.

The Jets top line was out for over a minute and drew the 1st pp. That was why the second unit started. They were also out for a bit before the second pp.

Agree at this point.

Given how well they've played this season, and given the profound technical and emotional efforts to overcome occasional poor games and slumps all season long, and the attention to detail in direct, itemized response to the failures of last year's PO stagger -- ya gotta dance with the ones what bring ya.

I also suspect that the whole "The Playoffs are Another Season!!!" narrative may be a bit overblown, especially for a group who during decent swatches of this season played an almost-playoff schedule.

They needed Monohan, or someone like him, last year. He helped, until the playoffs.

This year we've already seen an impressive Lowry/ Ehlers second line deployed. Perhaps another talented digger who can slot in as a versatile support piece should outweigh a big splash that has the potential to damage a very closeknit room. Lambert and Ford as black aces, Chibby unlikely, some nice possible reinforcements there also,

I'd almost say the same on D -- but we already have Heinola and Coughlan and maybe even Salmo in the wings so who knows?

An ideal result for the season would be a banner or two, a Cup and another few trophies and a nice slate of picks in the draft.

Less ideal would be spending big on yet another player who doesn't want to be here and underachieves at the expense of the team. That group, I'd bet, isn't bound for the Cup.

Nice, solid win over a veery good team. That's Caps and Canes in short order. Next up, Vegarse.
