Best guess on the lines with Tarasenko?

Prepare to be let down. He's ****ing toast. Blues bent us over again - not QUITE as bad as the first time, but it's hard to top that disaster.
I will remain optimistic that Drury and our scouts know what they were seeing and hearing. Blues fans do not seem happy with the trade but they say Taresenko gave them no choice because he had a NTC and was not going to re-sign with them. I'm glad players want to be Rangers. The pick will be the worst of our own pick or the Nils Lundkvist pick.

Or we could have just kept Buch to begin with - who is currently better than Tarasenko, as well as keeping both of our firsts. We basically gave the Blues a 1st for a player to replace Buch who we gave to the Blues for a bag of pucks. It's HORRIBLE asset management. If I was that bad at my job, I'd be shit canned in an instant.

I think he's gonna replace Vesey on ZIb's line but that line has potential to be really not great.

Tarasenko is still very good and a great add but the star he was several years ago, he most certainly is not. He's pretty bad defensively at this point, with Panarin being worse.
He had 34 goals and 82 points in 75 games just last season. It was actually the most points he's ever had in a season.

The team record does not show horrible management. Drury was one of the leading executives in the NHL last season so not sure why you would be fired.

We can not afford Buchs 6 mill a year.

This is a half priced expiring contract rental not a 3 year contract.

We've got a bunch of games to test shit out, but you've got to give Panarin-Z-Tarasenko a shot with Fox and Lindgren. If that clicks, yeah you're going to get some defensive f*** ups but man will it light up the scoreboard. Let Shesterkin hold the fort for a high charged first line.

What I wish it was

Panarin - Zibanejad - Tarasenko
Kreider - Trocheck - Kravtsov
Lafreniere - Chytil - Kakko
Vesey - Goodrow - Gauthier

Lindgren - Fox
Miller - Trouba
Mikkola - Schneider

There is about a 99.459% chance that you guys will love Tank.

He is huge, thick 6'0" 228LBS, solid though not spectacular defensively and has one of the premier wristers on planet Earth. Tank and Bread will make magic.

Tank is a having a sub par season but it's a product of the team he is on having a sub par season. He isn't some drastically different player than he was just last season when had 82 points in 75 games so it's not that he lost a step, it's that the team he played on collectively lost a step. He is absolutely still elite and this change of scenery and the opportunity to play with one of his best friends while simultaneously playing for a legitimate Cup contender again will almost certainly light a fire under his ass because I cannot name another player more passionate about the desire, no, the NEED to win than Tarasenko. Tank is also tits and boner in the playoffs and knows exactly what It takes to win because he has been there and done that. I'm more excited to see what he and Bread can do together for you all than anything else.

Good luck Rangers fans, I'll be rooting for Tank and you all the rest of the way.

There is a high correlation with people who preface their lines with "I wish" and then have a non national leaguer playing a critical role in playoff hockey. Go use it on EA Sports. Nobody is stopping you. Do people forget how nail-biting playoff hockey is?

What I would do:

Panarin-Zib-Tarasenko
Kreider-Trocheck-Kravtsov
Kid Line
Vesebone-Goodrow-Gauthier

What I think will happen:

Panarin-Zib-Tarasenko
Kreider-Trocheck-Vesebone
Kid line
Goodrow-Jake-Gauthier

I don’t see the harm in giving Kravtsov a twirl pre-deadline. Tarasenko is a good guy to learn from

Gallant will play him on the first line with Panarin and Zibanejad for two games until they're on the ice for a goal against at even strength then Gallant will throw up his hands, declare that project a complete failure and put Vesey back on that line. Panarin-with-grinder-right wing is just as much a Gallant safety blanket as the kid line is. Anyone that actually believes Panarin/Zibanejad/Tarasenko has even a remote chance of being a thing longer than a few games is doing some heavy wishful thinking.

Some of you guys doubting Tank don’t realize he’s been hobbled this season recovering from a wrist injury from blocking Dumba’s shot, and playing on a team that’s deflated.

We’re going to see a rejuvenated Tank here.

What I'm hoping for:

10-93-91
13-72-24
20-16-26
12-21-74

55-23
79-8
77-4

31
41

That's actually a very good 4th line, and the other lines all have or demonstrate the potential for chemistry together
Not holding my breath though given the inexplicable love affair with Leschyshyn.

PP1:
10 (high left)-93 (bumper)-91 (right wall)-20 (netfront)-23 point (giving 10 and 93 the freedom to switch at will which will actually encourage movement on this PP instead of stagnant postiional play)

PP2 (since this unit is primarily left handed, they'd operate exactly opposite what PP1 does and favor the other side of the ice, with Kakko being the triggerman of choice):
16 (net front)-72 (bumper)-13 (high left)-24 (right side)-79 point

But isn't the injury worrisome? He'll still have the same issue here.

Buch is not the player he is today when we traded him, it's revisionist history to suggest such. He had a 20g 48 pt in a 50 something game season. His first where he didn't have his trademark 1 point in 15 game stretch or a 2 in 20. I give him credit he's raised his game since the trade, it happens

Rangers Projected Line up

Option A:

Artemi Panarin -- Mika Zibanejad -- Vlad Tarasenko
Chris Kreider -- Vincent Trocheck -- Jimmy Vesey
Alexis Lafreniere -- Filip Chytil -- Kaapo Kakko
Will Cuylle -- Jake Leschyshyn -- Goodrow

Option B:

Artemi Panarin -- Mika Zibanejad -- Jimmy Vesey
Chris Kreider -- Vincent Trocheck -- Vlad Tarasenko
Alexis Lafreniere -- Filip Chytil -- Kaapo Kakko
Will Cuylle -- Jake Leschyshyn -- Goodrow

Ryan Lindgren -- Adam Fox
K'Andre Miller -- Jacob Trouba
Ben Harpur -- Braden Schneider

Igor Shesterkin
Jaroslav Halak

- Very dynamic top 6. Lots of scoring punch.
-Option B is a bit more balanced in the top 6?
-Goodrow better on a 4th grinder line
*Keep the kid line intact they have great chemistry
None of the above. The lines they have for tonight are the best possible with this roster

I can't believe the overwhelming majority of people here actually voted in the poll thread that Panarin/Zibanejad/Tarasenko would last through the playoffs lmao. What team and coach do you guys watch?

Option C:

Artemi Panarin -- Vincent Trocheck -- Jimmy Vesey
Chris Kreider --Mika Zibanejad -- Vlad Tarasenko
Alexis Lafreniere -- Filip Chytil -- Kaapo Kakko

You want to do whatever possible to induce Panarin to shoot and score more. If this is the lineup that does it than keep it.
