Kiprusoff had 4 seasons as a starting goalie above .915 sv%
Rinne had 7 seasons as a starter with above .915
Rask has 8 seasons as a starter with above .915

Kiprusoff had 44 shutouts in 623 NHL games, 7.0% of his games
Rinne had 60 shutouts in 683 NHL games, 8.7% of his games
Rask has 52 shutouts in 560 NHL games, 9.2% of his games

Kiprusoff led his team to the playoffs 5 times, Finals once, 0 Cups
Rinne led his team to the playoffs 8 times, Finals once, 0 Cups
Rask led his team to the playoffs 8 times, Finals twice, 0 Cups*

The debate should be Rask vs Rinne with Rask getting the edge. I don't see how Kiprusoff is leading this poll, let alone comfortably.

This is a reminder how much a damn shame the NHL lockout was for the Flames.
Not that they were cup favourites or anything; but they just came off an incredible run, were going to get Iginla and Kiprusoff in their primes.

Kipper lost probably 70 starts, 40-45 wins, 4-10 shutouts... crazy when you factor that in.

Because Kiprusoff did all of his with worse teams.

Nashville at one point had a legendary Suter-Weber pairing and is/was known for a strong two-way play system. Bruins have had for pretty much the entirety of Rask's prime. Bergeron-Chara. The fact that Rask never backstopped them to a Cup is so weird to me.

Name the top two defenders/defensive centres ahead of Kiprusoff during his prime. Iginla was not a defensive forward and it's well-known how weak Calgary's centre lineup was. Where are Kiprusoff's perennial Selke and Norris contending teammates?

Kiprusoff also started later in his career, losing the benefits of playing younger and had a heavier workload season-over-season and at a time where it was generally accepted that the Flames should have been rebuilding but Kiprusoff would carry them to unexpected win streaks every year to squeak into possible playoff contention.

Your argument is so easy to counter.
