Best Defending Defensemen All Time

Mike Ramsey in the '80's was among the league's best but I'm not sure where I would put him all time. Same with Bill Hajt in the late '70's and early '80's.

Doug Harvey probably needs more love and so too someone like Serge Savard.

It's Lidström. I seriously can't understand why people are listing beer league era defensemen that nobody here has seen play. I refuse to believe there are people here that actually saw Doug Harvey play and win Norris. Enough with the nostalgia.

Maybe not all time, but Hjalmarsson was easily top 3 in the early to mid 2010s. Vlasic, Hjalmarsson, and Stralman were easily the top 3 defensive Dman of that time period.

Maybe not the absolute best, but Vlasic is a name I'd throw into the ring.

He, Hjalmarsson, and Stralman were the top 3 best defensive Dman in the league at one point.
