I don't really consider Minny or NJ as dark horses. NJ was a pick at the start of the season for me. Minny was in first place not too long ago.

St. Louis is on an insane role but who do they get in round 1?

So I say habs or send have best chance of going to round 2.

Honestly think Ottawa. They got an impressive top 9, good top 4 D. Ullmark has the potential to be awesome. Other than that, STL. I think Binnington got that one steal of a series in him these playoffs, at minimum.

Blues are having Parayko back soon too, hard not to go with them. Habs just got an X factor in Demidov.

Easily the habs

The habs had an awful start to the season, but they have a great record since.

Since mid-December, the habs have the 5th best record in the league. They have only 1 less pt than the Capitals in that period.

So they are much better than what you would expect from an 8th seed team. They also just added Demidov, who could be a top player for the habs.

Habs in the East and Blues in the West. But considering how good these two clubs have been recently, are they really dark horses?

Does New Jersey even really count as a darkhorse? Other than injuries and particular losing Jack Hughes? They're more of a wounded frontrunner to me.
Any team with Sheldon Keefe as coach in the NHL is a darkhorse.
Guy just can't convert.
Voted for Ottawa, our G is bailing us out so we only need 1-2 goals a game to lock it down.

Carry on conversation in the playoff board if you like.
