Dead Can Dance. I like the double meaning. Unique.

Order From Chaos. Succint, near perfect mission statement.

Portal. Doesn't look like much but it just fits the music really well.

Magma.

NoMeansNo.

Devo. Meaningful - conceptual jumping off point for the music.

A lot of band names seem kind of arbitrary. How you feel about them is probably tied to how much you like their music.

Hockeytown
KSKTFK (casket fk)
Grinch's Green Pecker

Alestorm (pirate metal band with many songs about drinking, a spin on "maelstrom" of course)

Just some cool ones that tickle me...

You take that back!!! Eyehategod are awesome. :yo:

To be fair though they are one of my alltime favourite bands and I may or may not be wearing an Eyehategod shirt as we speak....
I have no perception of what they sound like (and have no interest in it), but the name itself is beyond cringe-worthy. (And I hate religion)

I would say The Band is probably the worst band name of all time
I think it's great. I also like The Cramps, Husker Du, The The, and XTC (ecstasy).

Sound wise they are like early early Black Sabbath mixed in with hardcore punk and a lot of feedback and slow paced-ness.

As for the name they came up with it when they were like 17, not because of any anti-religiousness...but just to piss off and offend.

I think that just makes it worse.
