new mexico lol
Thought twice about doing this but apparently Haley and Asham both have threads so heeey.

I expected this guy to be really lazy and floaty with his reputation but he's looked like a very good competitor here. As a third liner who plays on the left, gives us a bit of size, hits everything, can stay on the same page with skill guys, he's been a great fit.

I think that with the mysterious cap number, Richards, free agency and pro-ready-ish prospects who we can't really gauge the organization's read on there are a ton of moving parts. I have no idea what this team's bottom six will look like next year, but I hope they keep him. I mean, I made his thread and I made an avatar with his face on it, that's commitment.

I hope he and Stràlman resign but I doubt it with our fancy prospects. I say resign him and let miller develop another year. Maybe trade Kristo too.
Sather only signed him because he was a 4th overall pick. What a lazy GM.

Wow, I really can't believe he's only 27. For some reason I thought he was like 32.

He's really started to find a groove here over the second half of the season. Wouldn't mind keeping him on that 2yr/3mil deal.

Did anyone else notice at the very end of tonight's game, as they were heading off, Staal grabbed the back of Pouliot's jersey and said something stern to him? They cut away pretty quickly, but if anyone still has it, they could take a look. I found that more than interesting. I think Pouliot's definitely shown he can be an effective player, but I'm wondering how liked he is in the room. I don't have proof of this, other than some small hints during the year + his history of only playing a season with other teams. It's not like this is the first year he's been effective hockey player.

had a quick look and you are right that Staal grabs the back of his jersey (pulling it slightly at the neck-line) but it didn't look like anything stern to me, it looked more like a "******* yeah we pulled it off, nice goal" kind of gesture

Really happy that he's settled into a nice reliable playing role the second half of the season here. I hope he will remain with the team going forward

Pouliot plays with a lot more intensity than I'd think. He also hits to hurt, I didn't expect that from him.

Hope he resigns.

A play tonight I particularly liked was when he scored. He's watching Phillips, and then jumps Spezza to steal the puck and rip it top shelf. It was a terrible pass by Phillips but Pouliot was all over him, showed great effort on that play. It's something I never expected to see from him.

He has surprised me, very good 3rd line player. Would love to keep him at the right price, I think there is no chance he take a 2 million contract, probably looking more 2.5 or up. Remember Prust got 2.2, and this guy has much more upside.

We can also then sign Devin Setoguchi and complete our disappointment line

Pouliot - Brassard - Setoguchi

Pouliot is a keeper. If the price is right. He hasn't given up once, as far as I can tell. He is having a good season, its amazing what a little effort can do. Rick Nash could take a few pointers on what it looks like to play with some heart.

the day Nash shows heart or emotion is the day Crosby announces that he will sign with the Rangers :sarcasm:

not giving up on him early in the year might be the best thing AV has done all year as coach

I like him, I'm still trying to figure out how a guy with size, speed, and good hands can't seem to pass the 30 point mark.

Pouliot is producing typical Pouliot numbers.

Not surprised, not disappointed.

He is who I thought we were signing.

Difference is that he's scored more on the PP here, then he has in years past.

Keep him if we cannot upgrade the top two lines LW position.

Otherwise, he can go.

he's hardcore up and down in his career. This year fans called him Poo forever:laugh:

now hes been consistent for a long time.

I'd sign him. Im sure he would take a descent deal like 1.5 per for 2 yrs just so he can stop moving around all the time

Depth chart for next yr he may block a kid though assuming no big moves
LW, Kreider, Zuccarello, Hagelin, ? Carcillo on the cheap?
RW, Nash, MSL, Pouliott, Dorsett

gonna guess C is Stepan, Brassard, Miller like it or not.....Moore on the cheap?

Kind of blocks Fast and Kristo who cant get 4th line minutes

at 28 to start the 14-15 season, there is no upside.

He is who his stats say he is.

A decent 3rd liner that will give you 13-18 goals and 25-32 points a year

Prust doesn't score as much, but is a better defensive player and a great guy on the PK.

Neither are worth 2.5 though

He fits because he should be cheap, he fits n the Zuccarello line, and he is a good skater in a skating system.

I think 1.5 is a no brainer for him, the bigger question for the bottom 6 is whether you'd rather keep D. Moore or Boyle.

I thought he was a good pick up for us with his low expectations and he has more then surpassed them. I would like to keep him but stunting our prospects should not be an options. If Jt Miller, Kristo, or this new kid we just picked up are NHL ready they should get the nod and we should try and move Pouliot for picks to replace the ones we lost or prospects.

Pouliot is putting up his usual numbers, yes, but he was bleeding terrible in the first half of the season. He's always been a streaky player, scoring-wise, but in the second half of the season, I think he's been playing the best hockey of his career, from what I know of it.

I'm scared he won't keep it up, but it would be nice if he would.

sorry to take a shot at you here.

Only on the Rangers can a 30 point scorer get signed, come in and score 30 points and be considered to have surpassed expectations.

This fan base is so accepting of mediocrity it's staggering.

Clueless owner, has been for a GM, Coaching carousel over the last 6 seasons.

Failed attempt after failed attempt at both going for it AND rebuilding.

A return of the retirement community that Merc. after Merc. has come in and exploited for the hockey world to witness.

It's ****ing sad to be a fan of this team.

Imagine this.

We have needed a #1 center since Messier first left for Vancouver. Nylander had a nice run with Jagr, but he's no #1 center.

Our best LW in the last 15 years was Marty Straka.

We have not had a competent Puck Moving Defenceman since Leetch

We have missed the mark when it came to overall team physicality. We had the 11-12 season and that was interesting. But even that team took a physical pounding. I'm not taking about the knuckle draggers, I'm talkign about a team that can push the pace physically.

We have a mediocre team that signs mediocre players and when they play mediocre hockey they have surpassed expectations?

Really?

gooooodddddddaaaaaaammmmmmmm
